I drank from an old tin cup or an old soup can on a wire hanging from the well pump more than from a hose and I damn sure don't remember stopping by the well pump to wash my hands after coming out of the outhouse either!!!

Yup, and we were told to be home when the streetlights came on. One bath tub and 7 children:youngest was bathed first. Being the oldest, and the dirtest, got me the 7th bath. To this day I have no allergies and never a serious illness.

          Electric Water Pump
          by DaWizard

          Let's try this again...

Call me crazy, insane, or just plain bonkers, I AM an electronics Wizard, have been since 1975 when I started my second electronics job repairing stereos and CB radios. I have been and always will be a gadget freak, so naturally, I rewired my Model A to 12v neg chassis. Also I likes LEDs

Now, because we are now 12v, the next step in this

          46 to 50 Cams
          by Terry, NJ
So I'm a little out of my normal ( Mod A ) interests this time, but this came up for a friend and it's been troubling us since then. It goes like this, A friend has a Late forties truck (48, 49, maybe 47?) and he wanted the electric fuel pump removed and the old mechanical pump restored as it had been when new. Great! We put the pushrod into the guide bore and felt it clink against the cam. No doubt...

          Water Flushing Pump
          by copgib
Can someone who used a sump pump to flush there engines out for rust tell me what size motor your pump had. If I go this route I want to be sure it will be powerful enough to do the job. Thanks

          Water pump
          by Fordfordora
Attached are pictures of the water pump that was on my car when I purchased it. Is this an aftermarket pump? if so, will a rebuild kit work on this. I kind of like the idea of having a grease reservoir handy.

While not 'model a' per se, it is.

What is it? It appeared in an an ancient article that doc did. The major diameter is 1-3/16"

          Short Water Pump
          by Bob C
Anybody know what this water pump could be for? I thought maybe an overhead conversion but I can't find any that use a pump like this.

Ruppert "Leakless" Extreme Duty waterpump leaking
          by AL in NY
I bought a Ruppert leakless extreme duty waterpump in 2010 thinking it would outlast me. Well after eight years(warranted for 5) and 15.000 miles it's leaking. Has anyone had a Ruppert pump fail? I'm going to call them tomorrow and see if they will repair it (on my nickel) or if I have to buy another pump.

          Leakless Pump Follow Up
          by Roadster Rich
I am so sick and tired of water pumps that leak! Just about to fire up an engine that I rebuilt myself (just rings, lap in valves adjust all clearances, rebuilt dizzy, carb and water pump). I filled with 50/50 yesterday morning and saw a very slow drip at the pump. But from every thing I can tell it seems to be coming from the pressed in bushing and the pump body. The drip only was about 1/3 cup...

Current Water Pump Shaft, I measured one.
          by Kevin in NJ
          FWIW.

My brother brought home the water pump kit that A&L was selling. Not sure who makes all the parts. The shaft was stainless and it measures the correct .625 along the length. The taper looks good and fits the original fan nice.

I mention about not knowing who makes all the parts as the bag full of parts had Bratton's labels. I am suspecting it is a Bratton's ki...

Calling Mike K, Oil pump testing...
          by DaWizard
I have been working on a pressurized engine and would like to test the oil pump for both volume and pressure before taking a chance on starting the engine. I have multiple pumps to compare.

Since I have the pump out I can plunge it into oil and turn it and have it spew oil all over the place or take it for a dip in water and help water the lawn, which I would prefer. Besides, water can
