  • Barge jammed..............

Yesterday the high was 58, today 61. Temps have dropped so fast and so far in the past two hours that I have a barge stuck in the river ice. He can go back a bit but he can't break through and he damn sure can't turn around.

Ed, I worked on a barge for a month in 1978 and it had a female cook !! Might be worth the walk out there ?

Other than knowing a gal years ago that was a cook on a barge, (could have been the same one) both barges are gone now. The front one was able to bust through after I walked out and gave a shove. Having known to walk on water in my youth, walking on ice was a breeze!!! !!!

How far they made it north is a different story. I doubt if anymore try it for the next few days.

I saw my grandpa walk on water!
We went for a walk in his woods one winter. On the way back the Briar bushes got to thick for younger sister so grandpa said lets walk on the frozen creek :-( My younger brother and I where ahead of grandpa and sister, grandpa started going through the ice and slid sis to us and said get off the ice. Grandpa’s every step he broke through the ice! We all got off ok, grandpa said that was stupid. Thanks for bringing up memories about my childhood.

I've never been a water kinda of guy, if I had been I would have went Navy. I never cared to learn to ice skate because of that exact fact, falling through..............

                I've always banked fish...........

Joe heard a rumor that his father, grandfather and great-grandfather had all walked on water on their 21st birthdays.

So, on his 21st birthday, Joe and his good friend Brian headed out to the lake. "If they did it, I can too!" he insisted.

When Joe and Brian arrived at the lake, they rented a boat and began paddling. When the got to the middle of the lake, Joe stepped off of the side of the boat... and damn near drowned.

Furious and somewhat shamed, he and Brian headed for home.

When Joe arrived back at the family farm, he asked his grandmother for an explanation. "Grandma, why can I not walk on water like my father, and his father, and his father before him?"

The feeble old grandmother took Joe by the hands, looked into his eyes, and explained, "That's because your father, grandfather, and great-grandfather were born in January... you were born in July, dear."

I have asking around trying to locate someone close to my location that can help me when I need it on my Model A. I contacted one guy that was refered to me by another Model Aer. Unfortunately he no longer works on them and has another fulltime job now. So while checking around my area I remembered we have one salvage yard in town. I have only been there once, so I decided to go. I met the owner named...

Love to work on my AA, but I think I'm lovin the TT experience more now ! It may have to do with an 83 year old friend and our discussions on women, while sanding/painting on wood older than us. Ed said he was proud of me today and I'll take that to my grave, as the "best ever" comment about me Great day in Grantville today, no pTTt
