I came across this license plate....could be an interest to anyone with a 28/29 Model A. Surely something that is not common for an authentic Bling addition..............
It's amazing how much some license toppers sell for. Just recently there was a small tin topper that said "Go To Church On Sunday". It had some paint loss and light rust, and still sold for well over $100.
I can only afford the repro Gilmore Lion topper.
Ed I have been to scott when i was in the af. The navy BX at pearl is really something to see.
I have only found the PXs/BX's around are way over priced. The Commissary though is still a great privilege to have. What I like about Scott, a lot of the overseas ethnic food are brought in for wives from those same countries. I sure miss my German and British items that I can only find at AF BXs.

They have a lot of that stuff at Riley since the the 1st has been in germany so much, know what you mean not really bargains in the bx except for not paying sales tax.
I have tried Ebay and other internet sites as a source for authentic plates with no luck. I need or would like to have an original 1929 Indiana license plate for my Tudor. Any suggestions on an honest dealer selling plates? I would like to register the car with an authentic plate. Thanks...
Since the Model A came with front license clips, you'd think it would also come with license plate mounting hardware for the rear, but I don't recall ever seeing that listed or discussed. A few years ago I bought part 18930 from Bratton's because I thought it looked nice to hold the plate, but it would be nice to know what's original, if anything is.
Does anybody have any idea what a 1929 Colorado license plate might be worth? I know that the '29 plate for Texas is quite rare and a good set is unmercifully expensive. My BIL included a Colorado plate under the back seat when he sold me the car in 2007.
For those of you also living in Ohio. If you want to drive your Model A for more than just shows or parades what option have you chosen for license plates from the options that the Ohio DMV provides?
Do you have a front license plate? If so, where is it?
I had mine mounted center above the bumper. I made a bracket this evening to move it to the right side so as not to obstruct the wind that feeds the radiator. I see a lot mounted center on the light bar. Im experimenting to see if this change engine temperature....
Anybody have a restorer for license plates that they'd recommend? I did a search here and didn't come up with anything on the subject. I thought someone mentioned something about this last winter!
I just acquired a 1931 plate that’s in pretty good overall condition, but it does have some surface rust. Any suggestions for removing the rust without damaging the original paint ??? I don’t want to repaint the plate.
What is the proper color for the clips. I looked at the standards and did see the nut, lock washer, & bolt color, but not the clips. Did I miss it? Thanks
