  • You know it's cold when..

Low tonight is -2, high tomorrow 7 above and for the days after about the same into next week. Sure glad I don't have to walk those 12 miles to school and back. That sucked!!!!

Even as far SOUTH as S.E. Oklahoma, we had TERRIBLE ICE storms & sometimes 4 to 6 Inches of SNOW, when those ARTIC CLIPPER Storms blew down from the North. Brakes froze up & Tires froze to the ground & it took a pan of COALS, to heat the oil, so you could "hopefully" start the engine.
Trees were totally loaded with ICE & the slightest breeze would cause limbs to break off & clean off the WHOLE side of a tree & "sometimes" would clean a tree, down to just a trunk Travel was ALMOST impossible, except on GRAVEL Roads, IF you were VERY careful! Power OUTAGE was NO problem, cuz we DIDN'T have ELECTRICITY, anyhow---AND, Butane or Propane hadn't been "invented" yet!
Most Old Houses were SINGLE Wall construction & they were "COLD AS A WITCHS' TIT"---

Temps for more than a week to come, single digits for a high, into the minus for lows, chance of more accumulation. It was -6 this morning during my Morning Monolog.

Sure glad I put in a indoor toilet this summer.............

10 below going to 14 below. Cold out. Saw two dogs with a battery and jumper cables trying to get a rabbit to run

With these sub zero temps, my poor Studebaker is going to freeze it's rear end. It lives in a tent.

                    Got Rusty finally dialed in....
                    by Beauford
After reading through numerous threads I got enough info to have Rusty idle low enough to hear each valve, he doesn't cut off at hard stops and no more lope at idle. Of course this will probably all change when I start him either in a hour or next week but for now he is running top notch!!!

It completely slipped my mind, but today was the January Jacktown sale, swap meet. I scrambled to get up there early before the snow came. there were approximately thirty vendors pushing there rust, mostly tractor and small engine parts. However, There was one guy from Ringoes, NJ with mod. A parts. Not many, but the stuff was kinda shabby and nothing that I don't have two or three of myself. I've...

Think I just had a major aha, had a "now I think I understand" moment. Want to run it past Y'all, make sure I am correct.

Have been anxiously waiting for some summer heat to arrive. Me being a worrywart, did not understand why on a 75 degree day my temperature gauge is reading 180 - 185 degrees. I've seen posts that with a Bergs, clean cooling system, and a good motor it is...
