When they go by the 24 hour time postings, it really isn't necessary to use AM and PM.
Does anyone else use this with 24 hour clock postings?

I also have a big problem with writing dates here in the US. US is Dec 14 2017, in Europe and in the military it's 14 Dec 2014. I really have to stop and think when I have to write or read a date in especially when a date is written 5/6/17 etc etc

Without being told it's a 24 hour clock the 10:52 and 12:47 would need the am/pm. The 18:47 would seem to be obvious. Probably a computer programming thing.

The differences between the civilian and military date system
Just as you will be learning a new way of telling time, the military has their own way of annotating dates. This standardization ensures that all dates are understood correctly no matter who may be reading or writing them.
You may be used to using dates in the following format: Nov 28 2005
The military dating system uses the following format: 28 Nov 05

With months that you may normally spell out completely such as the month of July which is used in the following civilian example: July 28 2005
The military limits the number of letters used to abbreviate the month to 3 (three) as seen in the following military date example: 28 JUL 05

Well I'am still there :-( I'am a jack of all trades, started as an A/C mechanic, was reduced to facilities mechanic, cleaned aircraft for awhile, just to keep a job from layoffs, ready to retire waiting for retirees medical
