  • You know what's nice?

That members here can give different opinions courteously without pissing in each others corn flakes. This has always been an issue on most forums, and one which chases people away. There are always many ways to attack something conventionally or unconventionally. In the end the info gets to the poster without demeaning others along the way. That being said the advice here has really been at a high bar. I have had some private conversations with influential people in the hobby, and many have said over and over of how cordial the place is. . You'll be surprised of who just lurks our forums without joining. This whole situation makes the VFF stronger and attracts organizations and companies to support it. We have a lot of forks in the fire and many great things will be happening within the next 6 months.

Sounds good, and some times we say things that were not met the way they sound. Writing is not my strong suite and my spelling is worse. Some times things are taken wrong. If I say some thing wrong let me know.

I like the diversity of opinion some think nothing on an a should be changed, others like Wiz like to tinker and experiment, Guys like Carl G have original data plates and will not budge, bottom line is I can learn from what folks here say and believe me I have learned a lot, Mitch can tell you I have asked a lot of questions when doing my first model a. I have talked to folks here as well and nice bunch of people are here. Not to mention all the cool stuff Tom W. tells us about. Super detailed answers from Mike that make you think. We are all misunderstood sometimes especially some of the things my fat fingers write. Just keep doing what we are doing here and that is to help folks out, especially the folks that are new to this hobby there is a wealth of info here and there are experts here(I darn sure am not one of them) but I bow to guys like george that guy is quite a machinist. Mitch is always there to help as well plus he has some nice tools. Happy to be here from the beginning and the calendars are a great idea, the fact that info can be accessed without digging for it or events meets tours are there for you to plan to attend as well as guys like Brent to do a seminar. Where else do these things happen?

I still say it's like being in your garage on a Saturday morning with a coffee pot, a dozen donuts, and a group of Model A people offering advice, sharing Model A expertise, and being helpful with the morning's current Model A effort. It's friendly, it's respectful and it's helpful. Basically, it reflects the values and knowledge of Mitch!

I agree with George, occasionally a post might be taken the wrong way. On the internets people don't see we are smiling when we post. My handle isn't self gloss. I earned it in the tool & die trenches!

Just my two cents worth. IF you want to strongly disagree with someone it is best to write down what you THINK you want to say and sleep on it. The tomorrow you might "say" it or you might think it better to just let it slide!

Being a newbie on another popular site I had to keep my comments to myself after posting a geniune question I needed some help with, guaranteed to get a pile of crap and so as not to get the shaft and be blocked by administrator , especially newbie Canadian , with nothing to offer, I said nothing....yet

An impressive thing about the VFF and the posters.....
                    by tbirdtbird
From inception, I have noticed that the posters here are open minded about their methods, and have been willing to incorporate advice from professional mechanics and professional restorers into their repertoire. This is rewarding to the people that reply, in that they don't think that they are wasting their time. On so many other forums, posters are merely looking for confirmation that their shoddy...

Steve Wastler just got one of the limited edition VFF hats, and will be apart of our community along with so many other new folks that are being educated about it. WE are going to be kickin ass this week...

                    Krylon overhaul rant
                    by CM2
Its amazing to me how many people do krylon overhauls on engines.Who get into an engine repair, post pictures and ask questions, then when faced with a response to their question they dont like choose to ignore the advice. They pull the oil pan and head, rant and rave about the sludge they found, ask why their valves sit low in the seats and post pictures of cylinder walls that look like fun house mirrors,then...

I had the opportunity this past week to speak to a group of folks about the vff and what we are about here that many people here are very knowledgeable and willing to help especially new folks with their first car or restoration.
