  • Save Your Scrap

Making yard art for yourself or for sale is better than sending your scrap metal to China, where most of it returns in another form of scrap that we buy.

Not mine, but some guy on the Studebaker site made it.
I've seen some cool stuff from old metal parts, and I've also seen some pretty high prices on much of it.

        the term 'driver'
        by Jim Mason
I've never liked the term 'driver'. i understand the intended meaning but I've found it too often used as an excuse for shoddy workmanship, or trying to use really cheap quality parts.
It's like saying, rather than wiring my house I'll just use drop cords. Or if I run this pipe out the side of the house I won't have to plumb the kitchen. neither matter because the house is just used for living,...

        Dialing in Flywheel housing
        by tbirdtbird
I have gotten questions about this,
so I decided to re-post the link from the tech section.

Tom W is lucky enough to have the fancy tools, but in this write up I posted an easy way to do this with just a short length of angle iron and a feeler gauge

        Repurposed metal advertising box
        by Grover
My Town Sedan needed an upgrade on the trunk rack. Did get one A head gasket in the deal. Left the samples on the lid. Not sure what they're for but a friend said one is for a Willys-Knight. Matches the patina of the car except it does have some clear coat. Rest of the car will get that eventually.

        Build your own Luggage Trunk

        Original Thread

I don't know if a copy of this article has been posted on here before, I copied it from MAFCA. I converted it from PDF to JPEG so it could be easily be reprinted by anyone from here. I saw one of these trunks on a car at a show and it was impressive compared to those for sale commercially.

        Model A appraisal
        by massive
Hey, I found this old Ford while travelling in Greece of all places, wondering if anybody can tell which one it is? How much would it cost to repair it to working condition? especially engine and how much is it worth?
