  • For you Left coasters

Someone told me that if you need to air your tires in CA that it's free (by law), but you have to go in and ask. For those that don't know to ask they pump the quarters into the machine.

Thanks Mitch. Since I will not investigate this further I will take your word for it. Just down the street I have an America's Tire Store and these guys know me and welcome me each time I pull around to the pump and fill up my tires with a smile.
You wana look waaay far up da road and plan yer route because the brakes are far more of a suggestion than a command!

      Tires

Hello All, I would like your opinions on tires for my 31 Tudor it has Goodyear All Weather 5.00x19. They are cracked weathered andsplitting between the tread and just old.

Are there any tires that are better than others????? i see some with aggressive treads and some that look like road tires...i would prefer road tires and white walls.

Are the 5.00x19 the Stock size??...

      Egad..more tire talk
      by Big guy
After reading several strings on tires including radials, I decided it may be time to look at my Firestones. I talked to Coker and they said the tires were likely theirs. While the tires don't look bad they are at least 20 years old. My Tudor came from a gentleman in Ohio and she was always kept in a climate controlled garage. This should be a no brainer for me but at almost $1,200 for new ones the...

      Tires
      by 2manycars
The 600-16 bias firestone wide white tires on my 40 are getting old, and I want to replace them with coker radials. What is the opinion on 600-16 vs 650-16? Are radial tubes necessary?...

      Tire balance
      by carolinamudwalker
I put balance beads in my radial tires (innertubes) I then took the front tires to the tire shop and told him to let the tires run up a bit to let the beads do there thing before taking a reading, They still took 4-5 oz of lead weights. Did I do a bad thing? Will the weights and beads fight each other? Have not driven the car yet with this change.

Mixing radial and bias ply tires
      by carolinamudwalker
I am running the 19 " Radial tires but the spare in the wheel well is an older belted tire. In the event of a flat would you put the belted tire on the front or rear? I am inclined to put it on the front and slow down until I can get the radial fixed....

      Excelsior Stahl Radials
      by BNCHIEF
Just got these all done on my car followed H.L. Chauvins advice to the letter and what he had to say about them this is hands down the best thing i have done to date it feels like I added power steering to the car. The difference in ride and handling is like day and night. Not only that they look better than the whitewalls which means I have crossed over to the dark side with Mitch. If anyone...

How to save money on Coker tires
      by john in illinois
I am writing this as an addition to the recent best tire thread.

Summit Racing has all Coker tires and offers free shipping on all orders over 100$ all the time.

They are a little hard to find on website. Best way is to look up Coker sku number and enter it on Summit site.
