  • Is Your Windshield Header Wood Too Thick?

What a bummer. This looks like it must have been in good condition when it was put out to pasture. Actually it still could be restorable.

    30 Town Sedan Header Wood
    by KB9JLO
Thinking a little bit down the road, I would like to be able to 'open' my front window. I can't now because there are no screws in the windshield hinge and I figured out quickly that's because the screws that held the hinge fell out and the header is rotten. As part of the parts collection process I've been looking at all the vendors for the header wood piece. Of course all of them carry it - that...

    Windshield Stanchion
    by Brent
As I wrap up the top wood kit install, I'm working to assemble the header cover, visor, windshield, etc. to make a good fit. For the windshield stanchion/post, I noticed that there is nothing to accept the top screw. Any thoughts? Thanks!...

    Header wood

On the sport coup, is the wood directly over the windshield a solid piece or is there a space in the middle? Anyone have a picture?

    How to Secure the Header?
    by LoganB613
Back with another question! How is one supposed to secure the header on the interior? Everything else is secured with small nails, but there is no wood behind this panel above the windshield, so I'm stumped on how to keep it in place. Pictures attached as always....

I would like to separate the windshield from the header bracket. (Hinge)
it looks like they simply slide apart but was wondering if there are any precautions that I should be aware of.
I was unable to find any mention in Les Andrews books, and
did a search here with no results but I’m not real savvy in the search...

    Installing windshield
    by JohnB15632
Try as I might, I can not get the Windshield to close. It hits against the filler strip.
I am beginning to think that I have the wrong windshield for my 31 SW 4D TS.

I have a windshield which is original. I measured the heights in the center of the window and the one installed is almost 1/4" bigger. This different in heights is what is leading me to think that this windshield...

    Now some wood to ID
    by Keith True
Now I've come across some wood that I have no idea what it goes to.I think the wood in the bundle was something I bought for a 30 roadster. The two pair of the other pieces I haven't a clue.Turns out I have a few hundred pounds of Model A wood stuck up in the ceiling joists that I wouldn't throw away, even though I had no use for them or didn't know what they fit. ...

    I need a new windshield...
    by Grit Kid
The original factory shield has broken it's seal and the air bubbles are starting to rise. I need to replace it before they rise any further. Does the frame have to come completely off to replace the glass?

    I think I lost a file
    by DaWizard
Well folk, I can't seem to find the file I had listing the different body styles and the wood needed and how it was assembled.

    How about a little help?

One of our club member has a nice '30 Town Sedan and his windshield is falling off and it seems to me he has no wood backing it up for the wood screws to hold onto, so I need prints and pictures because I don't remember the

    Model A Windshield
    by JohnB15632
Successes are coming few and far between. But, today, I was able to put together my original windshield and windshield frame.
As I will show you in the pictures attached, it was in pretty sorry condition when I started.
I was most interested in saving the windshield glass, as it has an original 1960/1961 PA inspection sticker still on it!
