I am not that big on their wrenches, but I do like their 3/8 ratchets and sockets, screwdrivers, and punches and chisels. Also like their many older specialty tools. -
Nice to know my $14,000.00 worth of Snap-On tools and chest has appreciated. It is a pitifully small box with stuffed drawers, but it's mine.png "smile")
See, I made the purchase of all these fine tools in the 70's and 80's while employed as an electro-mechanical technician while working primarily on touring bikes in a one man shop where I did all the work and the owner spent his days who knows where. The Snap-On dealer came around every week to collect and sell more tools until the last payment was made and he then vanished never to be seen again. I have been asked about rust removal, short of sandblasting.
If you have compressed air, a needle scaler can be a very handy rust removal tool, indeed.
I usually do not suggest Horrible Fright tools (Harbor Freight), because their motto is tools at ridiculous prices, but also ridiculous quality.
But in the case of a needle scaler, it works

I tried to get a replacement for a broken craftsman ratchet, Loews won't replace..They sell only boxed sets. anyway maybe that is a sign of things to come. What is a good brand of tool? Snap on is just too expensive.10-17-2018, 05:59 PM
