  • Goofing around in the desert

Got the F150 a little dirty today...

About 80 miles of desert trails to the top of Montana Mountain and back.
The obligatory selfie (me and the Warden) and truck on a rock pic.
To be fair to the others, I ran in 2wd up to the point of going up a 25 degree incline where I selected 4wd to keep from spitting rocks all over my buddy’s Rubicon behind me..

By the time the ride was done, it was getting dark and doggoned hard to see the trail as I was following one of the other guys out. The trail was too narrow in some spots and afraid I got some desert pin-striping - so tomorrow I will wash it all up and get after the scratches with compound and hope for the best..

So - that was my day today...
Going forward, I’ll probably leave the tougher stuff for the SxS..

    No cleaning necessary

Love exploring the desert and have found many beautiful spots. Yes and some snakes but we tend to leave them alone....
Something to look at if you’re interested... pics below are from the link as well..

That's the kind of country I like, no grass to mow, and no leaves to rake, and our antique cars should last a lot longer in the dry climate.

Lotsa old cars here. Problem is that most people know what they’re worth or THINK they know what they’re worth because they watched some TV show..

It looks a LOT worse than it really is.... Its called Desert PinStripping... The Warden was not pleased but after washing it today 90% of it totally disappeared... A little compound and wax will make it perfect again.

If anyone has gone to Aruba and did the other side of the island it's all desert like that. We rented wranglers and tore the crap out of them, barely limped back to the rental spot. ATF was pouring out of the cooler, what a experience that was

Wow Mitch... Yeah, you definitely want to opt-in on the rental insurance.... Wranglers are generally pretty tough!

              Hollywood Wolf Whistle
              by Afordman31
One Christmas my folks asked me what I would like for Christmas....my reply was a Hollywood wolf whistle. So that's what I received. It was put on our 1930 Model a sedan. My brother and I had a lot of fun with it. We would call dogs out of yards and they would chase us down the road. We would whistle at girls with it, but I think it probably annoyed them. Still we had a good time with it.

              Whirlwind 3 day outing!
              by DaWizard
I will preface this by saying that we have the greatest Model Aers in the Diamond Tread chapter of MAFCA!

One of our working members was to have a weeks vacation so one of the others suggests we have an outing to commemorate the vacation. After 2 weeks of intense planning it was finalized and set for Mar 26th. We left from one of the clubs favorite starting spots, Der Weenerschnitzle...

Have you ever been stopped by a cop?
              by Ray Horton
Beauford's post about his two mile drive for a Coke got me thinking about the times I've been stopped by a cop while I was driving my A. It might be entertaining, if not informative, to share some stories. One of my memorable stops was coming home about 9:00 pm on a dark country road with my 3-month old daughter asleep in the back seat (no carrier, it was 1970). First the county deputy wanted to tell...

Today was a great day I finished up the 1927 model T coupe I have been working on, fixed a fan issue the fan would move back and forth, it was also trying to fire two cylinders at one time fixed everything fixed a couple of other minor issues car runs exceptionally well everything works as it should no leaks no drips I am happy and the owner is thrilled now on to my projects.

              Tinkering
              by pooch
I like to tinker with cars after they are registered and driving, small jobs here and there.

These lakester pipes have been on for 20 months and are starting to rust.

Over the next 3 weeks I will drop them off and pick them up again and have them ceramic coated in a shiny silver.

Note the dented recess on top , I am guessing these may have...

              I'm done....
              by Beauford
I'd like to thank all of you guys for this incredible journey of pain, sorrow and most of all joy!! I was able to recruit a buddy to help install the hood this evening. Interior and door checks installed and ole Rusty is done! I would have never got to this point without a lot of you guys who have steered me down this road since the barn days and a admin who answers all my dumb questions at 3am!!...
