Yesterday was 96* and humid. This morning a storm blew through at 60 MPH. We had hail that was still in the yard 3 hours after the storm. The storm came and went in about 15 minutes and dropped 1.2 inches of rain along with some hail. Five miles away they had so much hail that they brought out the snow plows to clear some roads. The crazy thing is I had 6 pieces of vinyl siding laying on my trailer, and it never moved an inch, but 100 feet away a large tree was snapped clean off about 10 feet above the ground. It fell just to the side of my storage shed, so I was lucky about that, but will have to spend a few days cutting wood and cleaning up the mess.
This is my car after I drove 5 miles at 50 MPH to blow off most of the crap. Luckily the hail was only about 1/2" so none of my cars got hurt. We've had so much rain last year and this year that it's hard to keep up with yard work, let alone trying to work on my Model A. I still need to paint the oil pan, so I can swap in a better engine, and see what's making the ticking noise in the engine that's in the car now. I'm pretty sure it's a collapsed piston skirt from an overheat.
