  • What do you call a used car?

I always thought it was so stupid when used cars started being called "previously owned" by used car dealerships during the 70's.
Well, today I just found another stupid thing to call then. I saw this ad on Craigslist for MPLS.
    "Walser Experienced Autos Burnsville, MN"
So, just what did they "experience".

Those labels are about as useful as a "Certificate of Authentication"

Yes, I never could figure out how that was proof of anything.
I could write up a paper saying that my bag of marbles was played with by Abe Lincoln.

Does this mean I need to get my A certified as "pre owned" if I want to sell it?

                    Not Pleased w/ Grundy Insurance
                    by Jeff/Illinois
I had two antique cars covered by Grundy for several years. I no longer needed the coverage so I wrote to them last August and canceled my policy.

Several weeks went by and I never heard anything back nor saw a refund check. I called them and they said 'We rec'd your cancellation notice August 20th. It was processed on September 17th(??) It may take up to 30 days for you to get it. If...

Used Model A Parts at Auctions
                    by Tom Wesenberg
Don't overpay for used parts at auctions. They are a gamble, and I'm not good at gambling. There's usually a good reason the part still isn't being used on a car. I bought this block at an auction about 20 years ago, thinking it would be good. I never saw the crack until I had it magnafluxed. Just gotta love people who use plain water.

The reason for high prices on used cars in the USA today
                    by Jeff/Illinois
And this goes along with how we've said the NADA value prices on Antique cars including Model A Fords is insane. About a seven minute video but listen to the whole thing. Scotty lays it all out. And how Kelley Blue book, NADA, JD Powers and Assoc. , CarMax, Auto Trader, and etc. are owned and operated by (drum roll here) PR and MARKETING PEOPLE that are setting the 'value' of a commodity they are...
