The Dog woke me up, while setting the kitchen clock, I ACCIDENTALLY turned the ALARM switch ON! OH WELL, I had to "P" anyhow.

A dead clock is one that is spot-on accurate twice per day....
living in AZ during the winter has its advantages - one being that the clock is what it is and no Daylight Savings Time...

    Brain fart on brakes
    by Licensed to kill
Haven't been here for quite awhile, lots on my plate. Anyways, I set up the brakes on my '31 fordor a few years ago as per instructions I found on the net. They have never been "good" even though everything is new and they are set according to instructions. Thought perhaps that the problem lies in the steel, rather than cast drums but can't see it making THAT much of a difference. Anyways,...

    Quality control, what quality control?
    by Corley
On the ccpu, I built a wooden cover for the bed, hinged at the front. I used 2 - 40lb gas struts to help lift the lid and hold it open. This worked great for about 6 years, but they were not overly strong struts. Then the gas struts got to where on a cool day, they would not hold the lid open. Ordered new struts, this time 67 lbs, and they worked great. For about a month. Then, both went completely...

What is your idle speed set at
    by Rob Doe
I now own a nice electronic tachometer. I have my idle adjusted to 470 with the advance 3 notches down. The test light came on at notch 1 when the engine was timed. What do you guys set yours at?

    Ignition timing
    by Jeff/Illinois
I know that Ford made this about as simple as possible with the Model A, but I'm still pondering here after running the Roadster around town today.

I have to set the spark lever about 1/4th up towards retard or I get a knock if I put any kind of load on the engine. Other Model A's I've driven I could set the lever at full advance for general driving no problem.

    Points set...
