The eye holes open when they want, no clock tells them when. I'll change mine back sometime today.

A dead clock is one that is spot-on accurate twice per day....
living in AZ during the winter has its advantages - one being that the clock is what it is and no Daylight Savings Time...Regards - Randy

Haven't been here for quite awhile, lots on my plate. Anyways, I set up the brakes on my '31 fordor a few years ago as per instructions I found on the net. They have never been "good" even though everything is new and they are set according to instructions. by CorleyOn the ccpu, I built a wooden cover for the bed, hinged at the front. I used 2 - 40lb gas struts to help lift the lid and hold it open. This worked great for about 6 years, but they were not overly strong struts. Then the gas struts got to where on a cool day, they would not hold the lid open. by Rob DoeI now own a nice electronic tachometer. I have my idle adjusted to 470 with the advance 3 notches down. The test light came on at notch 1 when the engine was timed. What do you guys set yours at?

I know that Ford made this about as simple as possible with the Model A, but I'm still pondering here after running the Roadster around town today.
I have to set the spark lever about 1/4th up towards retard or I get a knock if I put any kind of load on the engine. Other Model A's I've driven I could set the lever at full advance for general driving no problem.
