All I can tell you it started when an Australian company announced they were shutting down for 2 weeks. The shutdown was so they could reconfigure to increase their production when the area in China that makes alot of TP was closing down due the the virus. Why the run on TP here in the USA I do not know as most of our TP is made here and not in China or Australia. Guesse everyone here got nervious and stockpiled. The stockpiling has slowed down here as there was still some on the shelves at Walmart late in the day. A few weeks ago it was all gone by 8 am. Rod

At some point in time standardization was a creative idea.

Wife said if we run out of TP then we could use all those boxes of blue pop-up shop towels I have. 🤬 I changed the lock on the garage.

I don't need any, but I went shopping for food and water softener salt today, and notice not one of the 3 stores had any toilet paper on the shelves.
Also Aldi had no water softener salt. Can't believe that salt is also being hoarded. People are nuts.

Was at Walmart here yesterday afternoon. Groceries looked pretty stocked, TP was about half full stocked. Lots of eggs, meat .chicken, etc.

None. I buy some things in bulk (larger packages) or when I notice it on sale. Did buy a 4 pack a couple of weeks ago, will go looking again when I have to break into the 4 pack.

I am frugal on some things, now spend money on things like quality model A parts, etc. Learned my lesson, no more generators etc. off of gypbay.

With being frugal and my tax return, was able to get my Truck seat cushions reupholstered. Looks like this weekend might be able to get it out of storage, and try out the cushions.

Can not get it out, it is in remote storage facility, packed in with other vehicles. Have to wait for some of the others to get their vehicles so I can get to mine. I put up with this since it only costs me $140 for 5-6 months storage.

I do agree, temps finally getting into the upper 50s, am getting antsy/impatient. I am sure, actually I am certain it is quite a bit warmer in Southern Illinois. Have a sister in Robinson Ill, but weather has been very wet, but is a lot warmer in Robinson than in Southern Wisconsin.

I suppose the garage has cases of the "shin savers" stacked to the ceiling

                                  by sphanna
i went to NAPA and purchased a Stant 180* thermostat. Got home and tested it before installation. It would not open even in boiling water. Took it back and noticed it was made in China. Got my money back and said I wanted one made in US and was told that no-one made them in us anymore. All from China. I said, I'll check somewhere else. I went to OReilly's and found a (Murray Plus + # 3838 ) 180* Thermostat...

Model A farming plant - is there anything like this?
                                  by Hoogah
Over the past couple of weeks, I've been involved in preparations for a clearing sale on a farm that belonged to two bachelor brothers. The last of the brothers passed away about 18 months ago. Both were well into their 80s when they died. What is unique about these blokes is that they farmed in some kind of time warp for almost all of their lives.

The only word that seems fitting right now is WOW!! So much happened in such a short time. Funny thing was that this morning when I looked at some of the pictures Mitch had posted, there was a bunch of stuff that evidently took place that I missed seeing. Pretty Wild! One person told me by phone on his way home that this weekend just didn't last long enough. I agree!!

Some may have noticed I've been laying low lately. I'll tell you why in two words, Kidney Stones! Tuesday, I was called by my Dr as to why I did not follow up on some emergency stuff relative to some trouble I was having ten days to two weeks ago. (I had made an appt for Dec third but she didn't not know that) She wanted me in the office at 2:00. Decisions were made quickly, and I wound up in the...

Got my LB chapter notice in the mail today. Not sure what I need to do in anything as I assume since they sent the notice to me they know they have my money. Anyone ever deal with this before?

So I was sitting at the VFF tent one day and up comes this kid carrying a cracked cylinder head. I asked him to take a load off and have a seat with us. The day before I had a VFF’er drop off a pair of Jan-Feb 30 eye brow front fenders at our spot to try and sell. Well after a few minutes this boy told me the info of when these fenders were used right off the cuff. I quickly realized that Stephen...
