Interesting that you should have two of those in your collection Jim.

As for dates, the left with script was only used until they ran out in Feb '28. The right was used from Mar '28 to Feb '29 when the Teacup design was brought into production.

I believe that there are some commercial vehicles that had the drums into 1930, but those are far and few between. I believe they were used "off the shelf" as trucks were ordered and assembled.
You wana look waaay far up da road and plan yer route because the brakes are far more of a suggestion than a command!

There are at least 2 styles of Ford script cans,..not counting the Brass or Steel. It's the size of the Ford. I do have a small Ford steel can..
I've had trouble with which came first on the "DUOLIGHT",...raised or depressed.
      Dates,..I'm not sure of..

BTW,..did you buy the instrument panel ?

              Odd drum
              by Keith True
I am picking through my pile of drums, separating the cast ones out,and came across this oddball.I grabbed it thinking it was a cast drum because it doesn't have the rolled lip of the pressed drums.turns out it is pressed, but the lip is rolled,or folded all the way over to actually touch the outside of the drum.I can actually get a feeler guage under it in a few spots. It is one piece, although it looks...

              Right side tail lights
              by Poor Boy
I had picked up a copy of the Ford service bulletins at a flea market and have really enjoyed reading it. Great information. There are several items that I had assumed were aftermarket that were Ford and were promoted in the bulletins to the dealers as a way to increase sales and profit. One such item was a right hand side taillight. Now my question. Did they have a separate taillight without...

In my rusty parts pile I’ve had this drum. Were these common aftermarket replacements?

              LED lights
              by DaWizard
Since most of you know I have LED headlights, and I thought I posted that the rear were LED also, I find that some info was missing. So here it continues.

The tail lights are the regular tail and stop TeaCup tail light replacement LEDs cut down to fit the Drum tail light, so I at least kept it original to my mid'28 with the Drum buckets.

              Brake drum thickness
              by wrndln
I tried to search for the thickness for brake drums that provide enough material to be safe, but I couldn't find anything. I have seen information on ********, but I can't remember what the minimum thickness was. I know it is a little subjective, but I have some drums that are too thin and some that appear to maybe be OK. I know the inside original dimension is 11", but I don't have a inside...

              IS THIS NORMAL.
              by canadian
For a Model A , all lights working as normal , no signal lights , when low beams are on and when you flick to Highbeam... the tail lights will momentarily flicker and also do the same from high to low ... don't tell me Vintique , all reproduction parts purchased from Brattons. is this a Model A characteristic ?

              New Rear drum
              by Beauford
My new rear drum wont clear ebrake. Should I just sand it some? We don't have a service in my parts to mate the shoes and drum.

              No tail lights after fire
              by cairo16
So the other day my wife and I were out driving and ironically stopped at the auto parts store to buy oil for an oil change in the car. When we stopped there was smoke coming out of the cutout and the terminal box was melting. Someone stopped to help us and we got the car home. Within a few days I had the car all back together, generator was replaced with a new alternator and new terminal box and...
