Fine Point Judging: 31 Roadster: Will I get points deducted for having a temperature gauge. Single gauge installed below the insturment cluster

  • #2
Yes you will have a small deduction. Only authorized ford accessories are allowed. Any authorized accy's on the car must correspond with the vehicles build date. See the RG & JS guidelines under the ACCY section for the proper timelines and what is allowed.

Is there a score sheet available for the fine point judging that discloses the point allocations? It would be helpful to have this so I can pick my battles....

      46 Half Ton Gauge Issues
      by Jkraft46
One of the items on my repair list is to get the gauges working in the truck. Everything on the cluster works other than the oil pressure and the temp. When running, the temp gauge is all the way over on cold (left). When the engine is off, the temp gauge stays on hot, all the way right. The Oil pressure gauge does nothing. Any tips on where to start?

      Judging Standards
      by ronnaab
Just starting to review my Judging Sheets from Fine Point Judging @ Branson. Can't say that I am to impressed with the knowledge of the judges.
Standards show deduct 2 points for white walls, my score sheet deducted 20 points. Tools had several points deducted for wrong tire pump, wrong jack handle etc. Same tools were judged 2 different times with a different car (same year) and received full...

      Known Dangerous Parts for Judging
      by Mitch
This question stems from the other thread about reusing an original wiring harness for competition. Gary Karr brought up the point that I had mentioned about an old original harness being a fire hazard. Are fine point cars forced to use original parts for judging, even though they can be a life threatening item? Two items that come to mind at this moment are the fan blade and the wiring harnesses....

      Oil pressure gauge 46
      by Jkraft46
I can’t get the oil pressure gauge to do anything on our 46. It has two green wires going to it and both are negative (green and black). The sender wire was checked with a continuity tester and is good. I also tried taking positive directly to the sender side of the gauge and it still won’t budge. Any tips to get it working? Or do I need to have it reconditioned?
