    Model A horn and traffic
    by carolinamudwalker
Have any of you heard how a model A horn sounds at 45-50 mph? I have had 2 close calls recently, One when a guy was coming into my lane and I had no place to go, the other in a parking lot with this jerk just backing out without looking and depending on a horn to warn him. Again I had no place to go because car behind me. I want a truckers air horn with a foot switch, any ideas?

    Horn not well
    by WMWS
My horn has not been sounding too good lately so I took it off to check it out. I took it apart and everything looked good so put it back together. I tested it directly to the battery and it sounded great. But when I hooked it up to the wires and pushed the horn button it didn't sound so good. Like it wasn't getting enough juice. Do you think my problem is where the horn rod makes contact in the light...

Horn Goes Ahooga When Engine Running Just Oogh When Engine Off
    by Leo
OK, not a show stopper question but just a minor annoyance. I suspect a poor ground, probably too much paint in places where it should not be because all the wiring was replaced and the horn blows fine when it gets enough juice. Will a horn relay fix this? Yeah, I know it's a band aid approach.........

    Voltage reduction for the Horn
    by 30Pickemup
The pickup has the 12v system installed - and I'm getting ready to send in an order to my favorite parts supplier.
I see two different "Horn Voltage" reducers - one is a resister that mounts inside the horn (Brattons) and the other is an externally frame mounted device from Snyders. Pricing is about the same.
My concern is that while I like the internal solution.... I have...

Testing a Sparton Model B Horn
    by Tom Wesenberg
I just tested a Sparton Model B horn I have, and it has great sound. It draws 8 amps at 6 volts.
It looks identical to the Model A Sparton horn, except for the tapered shape of the motor cover....

    Horn Removal
    by copgib
While working on my Model A today I read in Les Andrews red book to take the only screw out of the back of the horn to disconnect the wires for removal. Well I tried to do this, but that screw just turns and will not come loose so I can pull the back off the horn. Any suggestions or will I have to start in the front and work my way to the back to take it apart? Any suggestions would be apprciated....

    horn button.
    by canadian
recently the horn button although still has spring return pressure can be pushed out of its centre position and pushed sideways. no horn function , what would I expect to find as problem ? no parts available near by so I like to order common repair items before breaking car down for weeks, all originial column and light rod etc. 1929....
