Just a note of CAUTION about the 1931 Instruction Book: Back in the 1970's, Ford Motor Company authorized a reprint of the Model A Instruction Book. There was nothing in the book stating that it was a reprint. However, they made one change in the book to differentiate it from the original books. The Ford oval on the front cover of the reprinted book is smaller than the original. It can be easily spotted if you just compare the width of the oval to the words ( Model "A" ) directly under the Ford oval. On the reprinted book, the Ford oval and the words ( Model "A" ) appear to be the same width, which happens to be about 1-1/2" wide. On the original book, the Ford oval is wider than the words ( Model "A" ). The Ford oval on the original book is 2" wide. These reprinted books with the small Ford oval are still being printed today, but more recently, there is usually a note stating that it is a reprint. These reprinted books with the small Ford oval on the front cover show up on eBay quite frequently, and I'm sure that most of the sellers claiming that it is an original book have no idea that it is a reprint. Now you know, so don't be fooled!
