by OldgearzRebuilt my B Carb with a kit from one of the suppliers. I was very careful and everything came apart and new parts went in with no problem. I put the carb back on the 30 Coupe, and it ran like crap. Couldn't figure it out, so I took the carb back apart and examined the replacement parts carefully. It seemed to me the new main jet opening in the tube was significantly smaller than the one I had...

by Poor BoyGood evening Guys. Was at the Stowe flea market and got some great stuff. One of the items was a Zenith B carb. It looked pretty tough, and I was hoping to save the top casting. As it turns out it cleaned up real nice and although I have not tested it , I think it is a good usable carb. It has a round float and the GAV is the same style as the Model A. I have tried searching, but cannot find...

by MickeyCan anyone (would anyone) build me a good working B carb. from what you see here? I would ,of course, pay for any additional materials. The first three shots are the same table, different view. The fourth shot is three additional cores. I've checked most of the best vendors and other sources. None. Renner no longer rebuilds carbs....

by Keith TrueI'm having kind of an odd carb problem on an A.It is something I've never seen before. When I turn on the gas it leaks badly out the throat until the float shuts the valve. Then it does slowly weep, maybe a drop every couple of minutes. It does idle too rich, even with the GAV turned all the way down.I have verified the GAV needle is hitting the seat, but just with a magic marker, not by pressure. This carb...

On a separate thread There is a discussion of flow tested jet vendors. Below are the results of asking most vendors status of their jets.
Brattons - Do not flow test, do not have jet kits, jets are ordered separately, does have rebuild kit with jets/gaskets/misc.
Mikes - Do not flow test jets, do not have jet kits, jets are ordered separately, does have rebuild kit with jets/gaskets/misc....-

by JordanAbout 12 years ago there was a big fight on the other site about people using the "new zenith" carbs that were built for forklifts, but bolted right up the original intake. The big fight was that you set the GAV under the hood on the carb itself instead of with the choke rod. Hopefully this information narrows down which carb I am referring to.
I'm not looking for another fight,...-

I am still kicking around the idea of a get home carb to replace my Weber. E-bay has weber carbs for $200 but they have electric choke. Also may be copy's of a weber. How can I determine if they would work as a backup without a lot of linkage problems? DA-Wiz had a modification to use a Stromberg but just the welding would cost me $200. Thanks
