  • Trial fit !

Bolted on my fenders, splash shields, and running boards today. It is a good fit, so I was going to pull them off tomorrow and get them painted.

Called the Jury duty line tonight and now I get to serve my Government tomorrow. Always something getting in my way on this AA.

Should be running soon enough anyway Thanks Beau for showing me it can get done, if you have enough socks

Beau, last time on jury duty ( just before heading to Tennessee) we had a hung jury. One juror didn't want to send the guy to jail, even though he said he did it ! All day trying to change his mind, although I did enjoy the experience.

ooh purdy - original to the truck i take it? Im still in the make it fit phase. Between fitting fenders from different vehicles, straightening the fender brackets, and getting everything else to line up its been rather pain. My fenders fit the frame holes perfectly, got them lined up on the headlight bar , got one side pretty good when it comes to the outer hole but other side is a crapshoot. Then i gotta straighten the fenders, fix some spots in em that are iffy test fit again then start fixing holes in splash aprons...

SS, not original, but I'm glad I found some good used fenders. That save me a lot of time and the splash aprons and running boards fit well. I was little surprised at how well it matched up.

SS, the cool thing I learned the other day was the radiator has a hood hold up latch on it, but then you knew that already !! It holds the hood up good and high too

When you sending them ladies up the river ED or do I need to float down and get them myself ? The only reason you wouldn't invite me, to my going away party is I'd leave with a few of your Gals

GEEZ !! It's raining here right now The ponds we have here, are spring fed and the were on the high side. I figured the spillway was plugged again, but it wasn't. The spring is pushing water out like crazy right now. You stay safe and dry down there ED.

Right now Sarah is SOL sitting in the garage with her engine in parts and can't move to high ground and I don't have flood coverage for her either. Just keeping my fingers crossed. I'd pray but heathen prayers aren't worth a wooden nickel.

Jim, the fellow that had started the restoration already did a lot. Running gear was restored and the flat bed was made. (Mahogany) All I have to do is the metal work, glass, trim, and engine, so my hats off to Fred Spading !! Pat

    Sheetmetal fitment
    by SeaSlugs
Well ive been off and on tweaking fender brackets and fenders to fit. Dawned on me by the time i add welting the hole locations would change slightly so i should be doing this fitting with welting present correct?

Is it best to start by straightening the running boards, mounting them to the brackets, then focus on splash aprons or front fenders first?

    Not sure the proper...

28 Model A with 30 fenders and stanchions.
    by pooch
If you have ever wondered what an early A would look like with 30 fenders, here it is.

SS 30 stanchions are fitted too.

The next info will probably only be of use to OZ guys....

Has a HR front end with CRS 2 inch dropped spindles.

With this setup, I got it as low as I wanted it at the front WITHOUT having to fit lunchboxes....

    1928-1929 Splash Aprons
    by Steve Plucker
I have a pair of 1928-1929 splash aprons that have "round holes" for attaching the front fenders.

All of the others I have seen have "oblong holes".

Did they come both ways like that OR do I have a pair of the repro types?

    Thanks.

    29 RPU rear fenders
    by Beauford
Ok, so this is a Brookville bed with repo rear fenders. The brookville bed does not have mounting studs for rear fenders but a cleaver pass through behind a lip for a bolt. My driver side rear fits perfect. The passenger side does not line up. I lifted the body to slide apron out a touch as it needed that anyway. I measured the fronts of the aprons to the edges of the front brackets and both are the...

    31 welled fenders question?
    by Ronnie Hill
I just bought a pair of 31 welled fenders that are a little different than what I’ve seen before. I’m pretty sure the fenders are original but I’m not sure about the wells. The wells have two drain holes and no rib in the center. I’m sure someone here knows something about this.
    I’d appreciate any information.
    thanks: Ronnie...

    '30-31 Side mount wheels canted
    by plyfor
We're working on a car with sound mounts. The wheels appear to slant in very slightly at the top from vertical the same amount on both sides. The arms thru the splash aprons holes are not quite vertical but lean forward also equally on both sides a little as shown in the Service Bulletins diagrams. The wheels are down in the wells as far as possible and the triangular plates are installed with L and...
