Wood is in the back along the seam and the 2 steel ones are forward. Of course the header is wood.

Thanks guys. When I bought my pickup, there were so many things that were not correct, I just wanted to verify that I had what I was suppose to have. Looks like this little bit is correct.

            top wood
            by donh
Has anyone ever tried filling the nail holes in the top wood and then successfully nailed the top material and molding down? I'm working on a 30 170B deluxe. I replaced the header but wonder about the rest of the top wood.

What to use for wood preservative

Got a Briggs body with some wood that needs to be fixed up. What are we using for new or existing wood to protect it?
I've heard boiled linseed oil is good as well as Gilsonite, but I have no idea where to source Gilsonite?...

Vendor recommendation for top wood '29 Tudor
            by Bill G
I have a '29 Tudor with some very questionable and even rotten wood. I have seen some vendors who sell wood kits. Fordwood, Classic wood Products, and it seems too, all the Model A vendors, Bert's Bratton's, Snyders, Mike's, Mac's, CW Moss, Sacramento, and probably others. It looks like the going price for a top wood kit is just north of $600, especially when considering shipping and hardware....

Nice ending to a wood header issue
            by Bill G
At the tail end of summer I was installing a top wood kit for my '29 Tudor After a lot of work, the last step was to install the header piece. It did, as the Les Andrews book suggests, take some sanding in order to make the bull-nose piece fit properly, and some to get the bottom to fit the contour of the outside ends. After all that, I went to put the piece in place with the 3M sealer, clamps and...

Another 29 Tudor top wood question
            by Bill G
The old wood had a padding of sorts between the wood and the sheet metal in places where the main left and right wood rails contacted the sheet metal roof, and anywhere wood was in direct contact with metal. This was for squeak prevention, I believe. It looked a lot like a cross between fiberglass and cotton. I cannot tell really what it was. For restoration purposes, what makes a good filler....

            thinking about moving up
            by thom
I think I will be spending some time here for a few days. I've been posting on the T forum but now I'm thinking about selling my '21 Touring and buying a '29 Fordor Leatherback that is for sale locally. Anything special, besides the obvious top difference, that I should check before buying?

            Rear window wood '29 Tudor
            by Bill G
Other than the two screws at the hip of the car, how is the rear window wood attached. I have not yet taken the window out, so I suspect I might find the secret there. Otherwise, I have searched and searched. Lots of pictures of the wood already installed but nothing showing the actual attachment.

            Thanks.

            Top of coupe
            by Mickey
Can you replace the wood in the roof of the coupe without removing the metal panels on the top sides. I know the front metal needs to come off and I assume probably the headliner. The top was leaking so I pulled the vinyl back and found mouse nests and rotted wood.
