  • Took a drive today

My wife and I took a ride today just to get out and about. I noticed these three vehicles sitting in a parking lot so I took some pictures. The business was closed and the owners weren't around, so I had to check them out. Wife had to get in the photo also. Hope you enjoy them. Hugh

Wish I could take my CCPU for a ride, but the roads here in NY are just covered with sand and salt. I envy you Florida and Southern California owners.

Took mine out for b'fast this morning. She performed very well so I filled up the tank, now she is happy.

It wasn't down to freezing last night, but it did get down into the 30s, so she was happy to get warmed up.

This is getting sickening. We're still in 0 to 20 degree temps and the roads are white with salt slush.
If it doesn't snow for a few days, then the roads are white with solid salt.
Last night the TV weather showed the whole eastern and southern US was going to be in the 70's.
There's no way we can drive good cars for at least 6 months of the year.

No one is holding a gun to your head making you live there! If you don't like your situation, change it!

I am originally from Michigan so I know how cold winters can get in the north.

                My baby has returned home
                by copgib
My 1930 Model A Coupe returned home today after being at my mechanic for the last 6-months. He has done alot of work getting it mechanicaly running good. Now it will be my turn to deal with everything else that is wrong with the car. With my business, this will also be a slow process, but I plan to do little at a time. Today the temp is supposed to be around 100-degrees so I am staying inside the...

                Progress on Model A
                by copgib
Well today I got some good news and some bad news. As most of you know, my Model A is sitting in my mechanics garage in Texas. I am in Florida, so I have to communicate through my brother who is getting things done for me there. Today I was told my mechanic got the loaner engine put into my Model A. Once he had the motor in, he noticed the distributor didn't look quite right. My mechanic states it...

Bringing my Model A back from a long sleep
                by copgib
Hi guys, just wanted to let you know what I got myself into. My brother has a friend that sold us two cars that were stored for about 20-years in a shed. My brother bought a 1926 Dodge Brothers Coupe and I bought a 1930 Model A. My brothers car is now running with very little manpower to it. My Model A is a different story. I bought mine for what I believe was a good price $2,000. I was told it had...

                A future Model A owner?
                by Tudor31
I was working on my 31 Tudor today when I heard a young voice from the street saying something about a great looking car. The young (about six years old) man and his mother quickly accepted an invitation to take a closer look at Eleanor. He was very knowledgeable despite his youth and had some really good questions. However, one question got me good:"Sir, have you had this car since it was new?"...

                63rd Annual holiday motor excursion
                by DaWizard
Well, today was the 63rd Horseless Carriage Club of So. Cal's annual Holiday Motor Excursion, and after attending last years, I and 5 other Model A'ers ventured out of the comfort zone and took the trip to Pasadena.

After all the signing up and looking at all the great cars, I ran into who, but Jay Leno, so got me a group shot of him and me with the VFF hats! I'm posting both because

                Update on my Model A
                by copgib
Well my 1930 Model A has been at my mechanics place for a few months and since he can only work on it maybe one day a week, because he has another job and other obligations, it is going slow. He installed a better gas tank and while removing the fuel bulb, we found out is was held in, not by metal but bondo painted about 4 inches across. I knew there was alot of bondo covering different areas of the...

                Progress on Model A
                by copgib
Well I finally took time to go into my man cave and work on my Model A. When I drove it into the building it overheated. Today I found out why. When I took the hose off the upper radiator nozzle I found black electical tape stuffed in it. I dug it out, see photo. I guess my mechanic or his son put alot of tape around the radiator neck because they bought a hose that was too large. What do you think?...
