Get it started, road test it, look in the gas tank, take more pictures, take better pictures, top, bottom , interior and engine, then repost

This will give me the "arm chair" mechanic status. I can just have a nice perfect driver and sit here with reference books and spout knowledge I know nothing about. LOL

I would encourage you to apply critical thinking and reasoning and facts, and aspire to be a 'toolbox mechanic"

If you have ever seen before pictures what I have been working on I'm not a toolbox mechanic, I'm insane! LOL There was zero critical thinking and reasoning in taking on this project. That's a fact! Hey...but it is fun and nice folks to help me along!

Hey Beauford, I'd say that with the task you have undertaken, you have surpassed the level of "shade tree mechanic" and moved into the "garage mechanic" level!

Why hasn't someone posted the obvious? From my "armchair" it's very clear to see it would be worth far more if it had Apple Green Wheels!!!:p

                    Engine Test Stand
                    by dmdeaton
I am looking for some ideas for a test stand. I am liking this hobby so much that I am gathering parts to build a couple engines. I don't have a second car yet and may want to start them up and bug them out. Dumb?

                    Gas tank blues...
                    by Beauford
So when I received a gas tank I purchased I really didn't give it a good once over since the deal was done and guy said it had no dents and was a really nice tank. Got it back from sand blaster....what a waste of money. Huge whammy in the top corner. Nasty welds on upper corners of dash. Looks like fuel valve was snapped or cut off so there is a mess there....nobody will work on a tank correct due...

                    by Mikey
Just joined VFF a few weeks ago and I'm really enjoying what I'm reading so far. I have taken all your experienced advice on starting my 31 roadster restoration but I have come to another roadblock. I finally got in the barn last week and found the number on the frame, A2556856 which according to what I have been reading makes it a late October 29 frame, nuts. The engine that I have (what's there)...
