Looks tits...paint them up brother, find someone who shoots good base/clear,a high volume shop..you don't need an 'artist who specializes' you need a cat who shoots paint 8 hours a day.I try to get to the prep and paint guys and juice them a few bucks on the side, goes along way.

I'll juice'm good. My neighbor owns a restor shop and gave me a hell of a deal on 2 coats PPG and clear but the vehicle needs to be inside so his floor space goes to the '72 Porche or the other old car they are doing a full ride on. I understand the money factor.

If you have some pretty banged up fenders and are not building a point car, Wescott makes the finest fiberglass fenders there are. And the won't have to be "altered" like the current steel repros..

I have read that there was a guy that worked the fiberglass fenders to a point that fooled everyone if you did not have a magnet.

Ya know Mike, I see no reason why that can't be done. I have waited for it for years, but it seems no one was willing to take the time.

Of course, now with the labor hourly rate so high, it wouldn't be worth it.

I have wondered for many years where the term "repop" came from. I have always referred to reproduction parts as "repro".

Young hipsters coined that, just like 'dizzy' for distributor...repop aint bad, but some of the others, like dizzy, are annoying to me.

          Or 'SPX' for 'Spokesman"

Soon they will just lay it out in all text format. Soon we will be saying 'MoA' for Model A. Then it will be MoAFo.Shortened to 'MoFo'........... Been called that more times than I can recall!!

Polish back sides of fenders, splash shields?
          by Rumbler
Is it correct to assume that Henry did not polish the back sides of panels such as fenders and running board splash shields? What is the best practice for today's fine point restorations...cut and buff the back sides?

What are 28-29 Model A Front Fenders worth today?
          by Steve Plucker
What are 28-29 Model A Front Fenders worth today? Yes I know...It all depends on condition of the fender itself.

I have about 10 sets of Front Fenders in various shapes and condition.

That goes for 28-29 Rear Fenders (No Beaver Tails).

          Thanks.

'30-'31 Reproduction Fenders - What experience do you have?
          by Jwmckenzie
Just was looking at the write up on repairing reproduction fenders in the Body Shop Forum, very informative.

          https://www.vintagefordforum.com/for...-front-fenders

Seems the issue being addressed in the write up is a poor fit of the skirt nose to the fender. Is the problem the fender or skirt nose? I...

          Nos Front fenders question
          by wrndln
I bought a pair of NOS front fenders a few years ago for my 29 CCPU. They have the usual scratches and chips on them from 90 plus years of storage. Usually I sandblast fenders before epoxy priming them, taking care of any blemishes and painting them with PPG Concept. I am wondering if I just scuff the fenders with Scotch Brite pads and spray a coat of high build primer on them and then sand them...

Are hood latches body paint color or black? '29 RPU I think I can get these Gaslight front fenders to work. The welting should fill in pretty well.

          31 welled fenders question?
          by Ronnie Hill
I just bought a pair of 31 welled fenders that are a little different than what I’ve seen before. I’m pretty sure the fenders are original but I’m not sure about the wells. The wells have two drain holes and no rib in the center. I’m sure someone here knows something about this.
          I’d appreciate any information.
          thanks: Ronnie...

          Undercoat
          by Dennis
Would you or would you not put undercoat on under your fenders. My fenders had a few dings from underneath, which weren’t all that bad considering 90 yrs. but a previous owner had sprayed something on decades ago. It was pretty much petrified and took only a couple applications of paint stripper to get it off. Most likely this car will never judged at a MARC OR MAFCA event and if I were to undercoat...

          Trial fit !
          by pAAt
Bolted on my fenders, splash shields, and running boards today. It is a good fit, so I was going to pull them off tomorrow and get them painted.

Called the Jury duty line tonight and now I get to serve my Government tomorrow. Always something getting in my way on this AA.

Should be running soon enough anyway Thanks Beau for showing me it can get done, if you have enough...

          Model A fenders $$$$$
          by Steve Plucker
What is the average price for Model A Fenders now a days?

I know it is all about condition but if you were to rate a fender between 1-10 (10 being the best), what would the price's be?

          Thanks.
