    Model A Borescope review

    EE6000 Wireless Borescope

I just got this wireless borescope that works with a smart phone & Tablet. Yes there are other like kind scopes on the market but this was recommended by Tech Garage and also on some other automotive publications. Well i can tell you that it is everything it is cracked up to be. It comes with a 90 deg adapter for seeing up and it also has a light intensity adjustment. The APP has a picture or a movie setting and as mentioned it is wireless to the phone or Ipad. The device connects via WIFI and has a real clear HD picture. For $49.95 or $39.95 if you get two and even $35.00 for a third it surely cannot be beat. Be careful as there are a ton of competing different brands out there, but if your interested in this go to the link to purchase it or check it out.
Tech Garage Borescope Page and Purchase link.

We have other scopes here at the shop including a Snap On and Autel which are both many hundreds of dollars, but this little 49.00 unit works better than them all. That is why i wanted to share this with you folks it just can't be beat. I plan to add this to the tool tips thread but felt a need to bring it to the forefront first.
No i'm not excited about it

The title of this thread is Model A Borescope but that is to make it a legal post. There a literary hundreds of uses for this including in and around the house.

looking' good, please explain the 90° adapter deal. I have a borescope, but it does no good for a modern OHV setup.
We just had a POS 70K Fiat 500 motor go to trash because of the way the braindead engineers connected the intake valves, via a computer controlled hydraulic (not mechanical) connection from the cam to the valves. The intent was to open the intakes way up at higher rpm so the engine could get a good drink. But this motor is known for having that system fail and you end up with a piston kissing a valve. In this case, 2 valves. If we could have looked UP in the cylinder we could have figured this out quicker.
BUT a compression test of 150-125-150-25 with sudden onset tells you SOMETHING is wrong with the valves. Goodbye, Fiat

The 90 deg adapter screws on the end of the camera. It has a mirror in there so when your going straight down with the unit, it's showing the topside.

ive been using this one - works great! I paid only $16 for it tho before xmas. Has a set focus so you have to position it just right to be 100% in focus but generally speaking you can see whats going on.

I bought a store return RIGID brand scope, but it's just a little too big to fit through the Model 'A spark plug hole.
It also has a set focus, so is mostly useful to view at about 3".
It did come in handy to find the drier sock and fish it out of my top tank after it tore loose from the top hose.

When i get a chance i'll take a video of going down a cylinder. I was able to see in my ears & throat crystal clear. I'll spare everyone that video

Mitch, Will the borescope work on a laptop? I don't have a smart phone or a tablet. I use wi-fi on my laptop for my internet connection. I didn't see laptops mentioned on their site.

You have to download the app, then connect to the cameras wifi. I am thinking it might not work but you can call
The APP is what it works from

Dont worry i used mine to find a pesky popcorn kernal i could feel with my tongue but floss and blindly poking with a toothpick wasn't getting anywhere... Works pretty well and only 1/4" wide and 16 foot long cable. Easily see in spark plug holes from model A to modern.

                      Thank you Mitch.

About a week before I read your article I bought a HF scope, and since have returned it. $59.92 with coupon.

Amazing deals on this Digital Inspection Camera at Harbor Freight. Quality tools & low prices.

Yours is great. Better resolution, the ability to take a picture or video or what you are looking at, no batteries needed, cheaper, the ability to change brightness on the fly, and longer cable.

I was notified yesterday from the Tech Garage, about an updated APP to use this boroscope with.

The APP is "ImageKit" no space between the words. I installed the app but have not tried it yet

                        Just a FYI to everyone

We have one also but can't get the downloaded Imagekit (1 word) app to work with a password, etc.. Also, the small charger cord end doesn't fit our IPhone, so one may need another cable to connect from the wireless transmitter to the IPhone though it implies that's not needed.
We need to verify with the vendor more about the app connection and security.
Can't get the app on Iphone 6 to work now with transmitter . Awaiting step by step instructions from vendor as the user manual is not much help.

You don't need a password like it says in the directions. Just go to settings then wifi and select it. Should work. If not text them they will get back to you. The small cord is for charging from a USB port. The small end goes in the control unit the larger to usb.

I also had to use imagekit for the scope to work. I have a iphone X, it was easy to download and use.

You don't need to cable connect the scope to the phone. You turn on Bluetooth on the phone and let it find and then sync with imagekit.

The cable that comes with the scope is only used with your computer/laptop to charge the built in battery in the scope. That is the only time that you would cable connect the little box to your computer. The little 1x4" box with the on/off button is what goes between your computer and the box to do the charging.

That's what I figure, so today I stopped by a pawn shop to see what they had. I dig through the tool boxes full of odds and ends and pull out between 20 and 30 tools, many are Craftsman and Thorsen, all for $20. I've got 2 nephews in grade school, and I want to start giving them tools, and get them away from the computer.

The unit itself creates it's own wifi signal. So you can be on top of MT. Everest and still use it

We couldn't get both apps to work with our I phone /network and returned it. We have another scope that plugs into one's phone directly without wireless .
Probably not the fault of the endoscope but some Iphone IOS protocols may not be compatible.
