  • Coming Soon...Part 2 about the Model A Ford Commercial Vehicle production worldwide...

Coming soon, in a couple of months, I will be publishing "The 1928-1931 Ford Assembly Plants and their Production of the Model A Ford "Light" Commercial Vehicles...Part 2".

It will follow the format of "The 1928-1931 Ford Assembly Plants and their Production of the Model A Ford Passenger Cars...Part 1".

There will be one chapter that was in Part 1 about the Canadian production (which was just 2 pages) for which I have revised and expanded on and will include it within Part 2. It will have the break-down of each body style and just where Canada sent those cars along with more precise data on Canada's keep of those vehicles.

Also to, Canada sent Model A's to Australia and a complete breakdown of the Australian Model A's will also be included. Special thanks to Dave Slater and John Page who have provided me with tons of Model A data from Australia's production and what an interesting side to the Model A Ford production it is.

    More later.

Does anyone who collects or knows anything about the Canadian Model A/AA Ford production, know anything about Canada's Export of Model A/AA Fords?

Do any of you have the documents titled "Shipments to Overseas Branches and Indent Dealers...1928 and 1929" and/or "Overseas Shipments...1930, 1931, and 1932" from Canada?

          Thanks....

          On This Day in History
          by BudP
On October 1, 1908, the first production Model T Ford is completed at the company’s Piquette Avenue plant in Detroit. Between 1908 and 1927, Ford would build some 15 million Model T cars. It was the longest production run of any automobile model in history until the Volkswagen Beetle surpassed it in 1972.

Edjamakate me on early Ford plants please.
          by Grit Kid
While doing some research, I came across info about Henry's factories in the Dearborn area, started reading further. On one article, it was talking about the River Rouge plant and it's wartime production and agriculture until 1928 when the Model A assembly started up. There were photos also of the plant, etc etc. My question is on the equipment tags where the earlier one was stamp R.Rouge (River Rouge)...

The NEW FORD (The MODEL A FORD)
          by Steve Plucker
Here is one for you Ford history buffs: When the new car first came out, it was reffered to as THE NEW FORD. That being the case, if that is the case!,...Just when did Ford decide to call it THE MODEL A FORD?

Or was it always reffered to as THE MODEL A FORD?

          HMMMMMMMMM???????
