  • Model A pickup box at auction

For any of you guys that live around Spring Valley, Minnesota. This is in the southern part of the state. There is a 15% bidder's penalty on-site higher on Proxibid. Bid carefully if interested.

Canopy Top (65-A) for Pickup Box (78-A or 78-B)?
        by Steve Plucker
What pickup box was the canopy top designed for? The wide bed or the narrow bed?

        Thanks.

        Difference in 78-b and 82-b
        by Dennis
I’m looking at judging standard trying to figure out if I have a 78 or 82. It is a late 30 with narrow pickup bed, not a wide 31. So what do I have?

Vega box in a 40 pickup
        by yooper trooper
I've heard pro's and con's regarding this as expected. I'm pretty much committed to the Vega upgrade so I'm really interested in hearing some of your thoughts on this before I go tearing into things. I do have a kit from a vendor down in Tennessee, seems reliable, knowledgeable and very pleasant to work with.

        Mecum Auction Houston
        by Jeff/Illinois
It IS nicer to watch live on the Internet vs. NBCHD TV. On TV they sell three cars and then cut to 8 minutes of commercials. Redundant ever repeating commercials. Not so with Watch Live. Commercial free.Plus there isn't all the bidder drama that the TV shows you, they don't have them displayed on TV. And the auctioneer is more pro-active on Watch Live. It's more about the car. Makes it more interesting....

        Hauling Bodies in a Pickup
        by dmdeaton
I know a tudor wont fit between wheel wells in a pickup bed. Just wondering if anyone has tried rigging one down in the back of a modern pickup truck? I am just thinking out loud since I am in the market for a body. I am trying to find on in my area, but keep running across deals across the states. I am trying to hold off till next Hershey.

        Model A Wreckers
        by Jeff/Illinois
Sure seems to be a lot of them showing up the last couple of years at the car auctions. Wonder if it's mainly the same guy doing these! This one coming up at the Monterrey Mecum sale.

I'm sure they used AA trucks for wrecker duty more than they would have a pickup. Pictures I've seen of Ford 'Service Cars' that the dealerships used were never a Model A they were set on the big wheelbase...

        Oz (Geelong) Model A pickup
        by pooch
Maybe a few of you overseas guys have never seen what we call here , A Geelong pickup.

The tray is an extension of the body line, no separate box.

This car looks fairly reasonable for the money in AUD.

        Aftermarket Pickup Bed
        by popsjohn
Looked at a 1931 CC Pickup going up for auction August 7. Nice truck but it has what I believe is an aftermarket bed. The tailgate is definitely not stock as the FORD script is not embossed on it. The sides of the bed are shallow and squared off. My question is how much value is lost by not have an original bed?

        Need a 8RT or 8BA for my 52 -F1 Pickup
        by 52 Truckin
Can anyone in the forum give me information on where I can locate a replacement engine for my pickup? I restored it and found that the engine, although rebuilt by a bad machine shop is bad. Block ruined.
