  • Distributor oiler

Were any of the stock A distributor housings fitted with an oiler that had a little flip door on it (like an electric motor, etc.)?

Not from the factory. Someone may have installed one to replace the original.

I had one years ago and suspect it was a replacement from the 40s or 50s, it worked fine as I remember.

I of course can't verify the truth of this story and I was young but the story goes like this supposedly this guy had a model a he was a rural mail carrier and wanted...

        Door striping
        by Grit Kid
Below is a photo of where I just removed the old door stripping. It was hard and rotted. I thought it was time to replace it but....didn't find anything like that on Snyders so I was thinking, was there such a strip for weather/sound proofing or was this a previous owners addition? The stripping was only along the door edge, not the bottom or upper edges.

        door sills
        by Art Ebeling
The door sills I have for My 31 Victoria seem to come up a little short compared to the door opening. I have a little space on both ends. Does anyone have a picture of them installed showing both ends? Also, when nailing the top edge down does it nail into a little edge rabbitted on the outside of the wooden subframe? Thanks, Art

        Bent hinges - DUMB MISTAKE
        by Supergnat
I am really embarrassed to write this but I desperate need of advice. I accidentally drove my 28 Fordor Leatherback into the garage with the driver side rear door open. The door caught on the edge of the garage opening molding and bent the door back over the rear fender. I was able to straighten the edge of the door where it contacted the fender but the door will not close anymore. The upper and...

Car Hauler Door warning and Mystery Solved
        by Tom Wesenberg
I'm north at my friend's house to dig up some small evergreens, and the first thing Charlie asked me to look at was his rear door on his Cargo Mate trailer. The cable had come completely off the spool, and he couldn't figure out why or how to fix it. The first thing we did was remove the metal cover over the shaft and springs. Right away I didn't like to see the 8' shaft with no center support. When...

        Door Bumpers on a Pickup
        by 30Pickemup
I’m going to adjusting the cab to fit the doors and the hood now that everything is painted.
My issue now is to not chip the paint in the process - so I thought it would be a good idea to install the door bumpers to protect the cab and the doors.

I have the parts shown in the pictures - as the door bumper kit. (I put captions under them)
I figured out where the top corner...

I'm in the process of painting my A Black and Maroon. When the doors are painted on the outside does the color scheme wrap around to the door jamb? Or is the jamb painted one color

        Sidebars
        by Mitch
I didn't want to hijack dmdeaton's build thread

I was recently asked about sidebars (slight modifications) being posted here on the VFF. There is a difference between performance up grades VS all out chops and hacks (it's really all common sense). Performance up grades have been around since the beginning of time. This was a huge issue that was never addressed on the and one of many...
