  • Who knows about the Sport Coupe?

Now, when I was younger, my first A was a '30 Sport Coupe, but all I really remember about it was it had some vinyl seat cover material for a roof.

Today I was working on an Aug '28 Sport Coupe and noticed something I had not remembered about my first one. It seems that the "Special Coupe" wasn't the only model to have a removable beltline. Can any of you out there in Model A land have a '28 Sport Coupe and corroborate this finding? Now, I know it's a '28 and a Sport Coupe because of the tank date and lack of roof metal, so humor me folk.
You wana look waaay far up da road and plan yer route because the brakes are far more of a suggestion than a command!

Yes. The 28-29 Sport Coupe, Special Coupe and Business Coupe all have the same belt rail moulding. Rod

Thanks Rod, I just didn't remember about the early Sport Coupe.

That moulding is hard to find in useable condition. There was a guy reproducing them several years ago when I restored a 29 sport coupe, but I do not think they are still available.

I like your paint. What colors are they? I have a 28 sport coupe it's Washington blue a 1930-31 color and want to do an authentic restoration, so I know I will have to choose a new color. I'm not certain that I like the black wheels. That could be a problem for me.

I posted before about our T but we just bought a '28 A Sport Coupe. It is an older restoration that runs and drives great.

        Top dressing

I have thought about renewing the top sealant on my 29 business coupe, but given that it is only a single thickness of fabric, I am concerned about the chemical odor permeating the interior of the car and making it unpleasant or even unhealthy. Can anyone advise me what they have used on older sport coupe and business coupe tops, and has odor been a problem?

I went back to North Platte to help my Dad this last week. On day 2 of helping Dad announced to me he is giving me his 29 coupe. He is nearly 80 and it still needs alot of work. More than he can see himself capable of doing at this point. I am going to continue with what he was wanting to do with it. The first order of things is to find room here. Secondly is to find the roof pieces to convert from...

        29 Special Coupe Roof
        by Rowdy
Is the roof panel above the door norrower or wider than the panel above the door than that of a tudor? Looking for these panels for my Dads special coupe and a friend called me and the right side he bought for his tudor is narrower than what he needs. Hoping it is the right width for the special coupe and I can trade him for the one I have for a tudor. For some reason I was thinking the one for the...
