Ed, I don't know about an "inverted firewall", but the indented firewall was late '31 only. I believe the start date for those was May or June '31.
You wana look waaay far up da road and plan yer route because the brakes are far more of a suggestion than a command!

It's not like those "BITCHIN" firewalls, for engine conversions.

I wish my brain and typing skills would work together LOL. I meant indented.
In my younger yrs I used to fly acrobatic airplanes that went "inverted".

            Indented firewall Mode A’s
            by Poor Boy
Good evening. Some of the questions on another topic have got me thinking. Were the indented firewall Model A’s made in all the assembly plants, or only in some for specific markets where the laws required removing the fuel line from the passenger compartment. I have been interested in Model A’s for well over 50 years, and don’t remember ever seeing one in person. Maybe I have just led a...

Anyone know how many spot welds are on each side of the late '31 firewall? I'm counting 6 or 7.

Firewall update - Before and After
            by Mickey
I'm really glad you guys convinced me to attempt the repair rather than attempt to replace the firewall. It wasn't that hard but it isn't quite as good as it looks either. But I plan to insulate it on the inside so no one will see it.
P.S I now have a perfectly good indented firewall coming out of blasting and being primered for the guy that really has to replace one.

            Followup Firewall question
            by Mickey
Based on the area depicted in the the picture below would it be likely that the patch I need could come from any donor 30-31 firewall and not just from an indented firewall?

Gas supply fitting in the firewall ('31) that the shut off valve screws into
            by Tim Warren
I removed a leaking shut-off valve. The threads in the firewall fitting are messed up. Does anyone make that fitting? If not, has anyone chased the threads successfully, and if so, what size tap? Thank you.

firewall mounted cast iron sediment bowls
            by RonC
Are there differences in the firewall mounted cast iron sediment bowls? Are 31 bowls the same as the 28-29 bowls or are there differences? Looking to find a correct 31 bowl. Thanks!
