The 160-C, the 1931 Deluxe Slant Window Fordor Sedan body was produced by Briggs, Murray and Ford.
I am in need of some confrmation data on Body Tags.
I have the following tags represented:
139-XXXXXX is Briggs;
160-C-XXXXXX is Murray;
153-XXXXX What then was this Body Tag? I have been told that it represents Briggs but under what...-

The 160-C Slant Window Fordor Sedan made its appearance about April 1931.
The indented firewall was introduced about May 1931.
With that in mind, there must have been 160-C's with flat firewalls?
The Briggs bodies had a Body Tag of "139-XXXX".
The Murray bodies had a Body Tag of "160-C XXXX"
So the question is...were...-

I have asked this before, still looking...Are there any 160-C Slant Window (2 Window) Sedans out there that have a Body Tag of "153-XXXX"?
If so...I need a photo of the ORIGINAL Body Tag for a article I am doing on the "Evolution of the 2-Window (Blind Backs) Sedans".
This would be a Briggs Body.
Thanks.

by Jim MasonI just ran across this picture. I'd not seen it before. It appears to be just after the body drop. there also appears to be six guys ready to install bolts(?). two things that surprised me is it appears one guy is inside the body. And it appears to be a hood shelf laying on the conveyor.
What do you see?

I am in need of some guys who are in the know concerning the 1931 2-Window (Slant Windshield) Fordor Sedans.
All 160-C’s with flat firewalls had a Briggs Manufacturing Body Tag represented by “139-XXXXX”. CONFIRM THIS! and were in Ford’s Part Number Group Unknown at this time.
Is this a true statement or not?
Were there 160-C's with indented firewalls from...-

How will we (or how are we) currently judging a 1928-1931 Model A/AA Ford with an Independent Body Style that is NOT (and which are not to my knowledge) currently specified in the MARC/MAFCA Restoration Guidelines and Judging Standards?
Will those vehicles be treated like all other vehicles in receiving full points or less points since some of the features are not covered within said...-

by Nelson CIs either of the sequences below better?
During restoration and the body work is complete and is in primer, should the top be installed before painting the body?
Or, should the body be painted and then the top installed?
Thanks very much for your experience and input....-

This concerns the two and possibably 3 Body Tags that were used by the Briggs Mfg. Co. on the 60-A and 60-B 2-Window Fordor Sedans.
The first was a tag about 2" x 1/2" and was indicated by 190-XXXXXX.
The second was a tag that was as such:
BODY NUMBER
190-XXXXXX
Briggs Mgf. Co. Detroit, Mich.
The third was a tag that indicated...-
