Did the 1928-1932 Fordson Tractors have Serial numbers? If so...what were some that are known? Did they have Model A type engines? Thanks. Pluck |

Might ask on the Yesrerdays Tractor Forum. I do not beleive the engine was much like the A other than having 4 cyl's. Rod"Much of the social history of the Western world, over the past three decades, has been a history of replacing what worked with what sounded good." Thomas Sowell

The engine was not like Model A. They were flat head 4 cylinders. As I remember they were much bigger than the A. Also a lot people think the 8n is a Model A engine. again not even close. I worked on a lot of 8n's in my Dads garage.Last edited by George Miller; 12-10-2017, 02:14 PM.

Thanks.

Anyone care to guess just how many Commercial Model A chassis went to Independent Body Builders in 1928, 1929, 1930, 1931 and yes...1932?
You might be surprised!
And NO...no prizes!
Answer in a day or so.

by Jerry KzooGuys,
I was having an issue with a Babbitt motor and thought I would investigate since we are in the middle of stay at home orders. It would have a knock at start up after sitting for a month that went away after 30 seconds or so. When I took it all apart the center main had a lot of wear on it leaving a larger than wanted clearance there. I removed the remaining shims and reassembled and...-

Just got an email about some free Model A engines in the South Bend area. Great deal for someone close to that area.

by JwmckenzieI posted this in the Intro sticky thread, but thought it would fun to find out how different people get into their Model A.
Here is my process for my '29 Roadster Pickup:
1. Put on my skinny shoes, I can't drive my Model A in my work shoes, not enough room down there.2. While standing the ground, not the running board, put the right leg in. Don't hold onto the Steering...-
