  • Vintage precision "O" ring

Just wanted to bring forward the announcement from Casey Pugh Of Vintage Precision that if anyone needs a new "O" ring to contact him. Also he said that in the future they will pack a spare with every order. Bob

Did anybody ever find out how they say to use the standard hose, when there are two different hoses, for early and late cars, and they only have one size water outlet?

      Looking for temperature guage
      by Mickey
I have the Vintage Precision 45 degree neck installed and need a temp. gauge where the sensor won't hit the thermostate. Anybody running one that can make a recommendation?

With a 180° thermostat and a Vintage Precision outlet neck assembly car will not heat up
      by bettlesr
I have a Vintage Precision housing and a Stant #45358 180° thermostat. Using a mechanical gauge screwed into the spare port on the housing I can not get the water temperature above 150° to 160°. The other port is connected to a remote water heater under the front seat. The air from the heater is warm but not hot. When I had the stock water outlet and an adjustable thermostat in the upper hose the...

      Pistons
      by DaWizard
Well, got the pistons and con rods out of the block today as I am finished for now on the "craft shed" for the kidlet.

Much to my dismay, none, nada, zip con rods have shims on the big ends!

There is also something I have not seen before, pistons with not just one compression ring, not two, but three compression rings!! Plus the normal oil ring!!

      Now,

      Cooling system upgrade
      by gdaquilina
One of the primary goals this winter is to upgrade Walters cooling system. After reading all I could find in the Forum I have come up with a list of parts that I plan to order to provide a reliable and effective cooling system.

Two blade aluminum fan - already run one
      Bergs radiator
      New Radiator installation kit
      Vintage Precision thermostat housing (I'll...

      Piston ring gap.
      by DaWizard
I just went through the whole thread on engines and didn't find an answer, so, what is the end gap of piston rings for the Model A engine?

I know I have the answer somewhere in my muddled brain but I just can't seem to retrieve it.

      Thermostat moving.
      by Jim Baskin III
While doing work this winter I replaced the thermostat and installed it in the upper rad. hose next to the head outlet. In the past the thermostat stayed in place, but the new one from Brattons want to move to the top of the rad. hose. How can I stop this without putting a clamp on the rad. hose to stop it moving as I want to keep the engine compartment correct and the extra clamp would look out of...

      Engine Overheat and Thermostat Warning
      by Tom Wesenberg
I use a thermostat in all my cars, including my Model A's, so this warning applies to modern and Model A cars. As many now know, I was in Arizona for 2 months to reunite with my girlfriend from the 70's and also to buy a nice rust free Buick. When I returned home the other day I noticed the engine temp would only get up to 109*. Even after completely blocking the air in front of the radiator, the...

VP Thermmostat Housing , antifreeze use
      by 1930 Closed Cab PU
Was just reading over conversion to a Vintage Precision Thermostat Housing. Noticed in the attached information water/Redline Water Wetter is recommended instead of antifreeze.

Comments from y'all? Has anyone who has done the conversion experienced the issue of foaming and leakage mentioned in the document?...
