Lets get some technical how to type threads started on the main Model A forum. These threads will be merged into our tech forum for future reference. We have a few merges in the Model A engine topics thread so far (ck it out). When we get more drive-ability things for instance they can eventually be merged into one thread in that forum. Each category is not limited to a certain amount of info. One person may do something one way and another accomplishes the same task differently, that's fine we want to hear about it. Those that contribute good relevant info that gets posted there will also have their names added to the wall of fame in the sticky.

Mitch: Stripers are far and few between and often beyond budget. So we do our own pinstriping using Finesse pinstriping stencil tapes from New York state. There are multiple styles available. Once the stencil tape is down, we use pinstriping enamel and a pinstripe brush also available from Finesse if desired , then peel of the stencil before paint set and in direction of stripe. With the striping / sign enamels available form art stores, etc.one can mix colors to suit and have plenty for touch up. The result may have a slight edge but future waxing reduces the edge down some. The tapes come in rolls and are not re-useable but are very reasonably priced. The smaller the tape width, the easier to negotiate curves like on upper reveals, etc. 3/32" width appears to be about correct for an A based on original cars but that could vary. For example, adjusting tan/beige enamel with yellow and white can come very close to Model A straw. If wheels are powder coated first, they can be matched using this process of mixing.Last edited by plyfor; 06-12-2017, 03:49 PM.

by MitchWhen posting a NEW (not super highly modified) Model A related topic, It either goes here in the general discussion or the authentic / fine point forum. If it's an authenticity type question then it goes in the AT~ FP forum.
Examples of this are Rusty Nelson's wire loom conduit question or Art Ebling's kick panel question. These are both authentic or original informational type questions....-

by Mitch30Pickemup and Larry Jenkins amazing story and build thread has been permanently moved to the Misc technical forum. Their voyage is now housed in a spot where it will never get lost up. We have a few other build threads in that same area, so check them out.
Thanks guys for sharing this with the VFF. A job well done

by Kevin in NJI stumbled into this website with technical information about epoxies. One thing you will want to read is about the Tg point and what it means to the epoxy.
An interesting fact of epoxy. You can freeze it and it will continue curing once you bring it back up to the temp of cure. They freeze the pre-mixed epoxy for use in the electronics industry. I will add I was told that epoxy paint...-

by MitchSo what is the consensuses on having a special area for ALL Burtz engine threads / questions? I mentioned this before but only received one response and that was today. If we did it there are two ways to go.
1. A subforum under Model A like our Technical areas or a new category like we have for the Model A , Fine Point etc. If a new category I would probably put it right after the Fine Point...-
