  • 1931 Tudor rear subrails

I have to replace the rear half subrails in my 1931 Tudor. Is there any advice on what I am about to get into?

Just did that. Advice, go slow and keep everything squared up. Ask questions, if you need help

It is a pretty simple design. The side quarter skins lip around the subrail. You’ll need to cut the replacement cross braces to length

thanks for the information and support. I bought this car when I was 14 and I am now 73. It has been a great friend and now deserves a restoration. I am a little afraid of unwrapping the quarter skins of the old subrail.

1931 S/W Fordor Sedan Rear Side Armrest Questions
            by Nelson C
The 1931 S/W Fordor Sedan 160B were trying to preserve does not have any trace of the Rear Side Armrests.

Do you know what the Armrest support brackets looked like before the upholstery covered them?
Also, how did the Armrests mount?

Can 1930-31 Tudor Sedan type Armrest Brackets be used with modification?
There are reproduction Tudor Sedan type armrests.

1931 DeLuxe Tudor Assist Straps ?
            by Arcieri
Saw in Area 12, page 15 of the 2016 RG that assist straps were not listed as standard equipment on Deluxe Tudors.
Also read in the new MAFCA published book (The Tudor Book) that these sedans did have assist straps from the factory.

Starting on page 19 of that book is an article by Mary Moline that includes 3 pictures of original unrestored Deluxe Tudors that
            show the straps....
