Nice 1938 Commander. My oldest is a 37 Dictator, which BTW was the last year Studebaker used that name due to a bad dictator in power overseas.
Has anyone else noticed that the "good old days" ended when Studebaker quit building cars?
Seems like things have gone downhill ever since due to inflation, more laws, rules, regulations, and government bureaucracy, law suites, and high insurance premiums.
BTW, why is it called premiums when it should be payments.
Premium sounds like something good you receive, like toys in the cereal boxes.
Oh wait, that was also back in the good old days. I haven't seen toys in cereal boxes since the price jumped from 37 cents to $2.37 a box.
Studebaker Dictator. Even before it became 'popular' in Europe, what was their Marketing department thinking?? Weird name for a car model.
Ever hear the story of the Chevy Nova? How sales were horrible in Spanish speaking countries? Until somebody figured out that 'Nova' translated as 'No-Go'!!

I must have eaten a ton of Wheaties, just to get the license plates glued to the front of the cereal boxes! I had to accompany Mom to the grocery store just to make sure she didn't pick out a box with one I already had.

whoever painted that car deserves a lot of praise.
I agree, it is a perfect looking paint job.
Until I was about 20 years old I never cared to own a car between the years 1935 to 1954 because I thought they were just bland old cars. I wanted an antique looking car, or a more modern, like a 55 Chevy. I finally realized those in between years were actually some of the nicest riding most comfortable cars to have.

My 36 ford coupe rides nice, and the flathead sounds great.

Got a '36 Ford in the stable here at home also. Later Flattie a 59AB, dual exhaust '39 Ford Toploader 3 spd. Sometimes it's nice to get out on the road and run faster than what the Model A does!! Good running vehicle a lot of fun to drive.
Two years ago at the Studebaker swap I found a nice 1928 flat screen Sparton horn. As I was carrying it to my car a guy with a German accent asked if it was for sale. I told him I'd just bought it, but if he was from Germany, I should have sold it to him, as they can't be easy to find over there.
This year I found a nice 1928 carb and a mint 1930 radiator cap. Must be a few guys that...
