Is there a reason the two small water holes between cyl 2 and cyl 3 would be blocked in both the Snyder 6:1 head and the A block? The B gasket sold for this head by Snyder has the holes open.

the B blocks had the steam holes so thats why your B gasket has them.. the A block did not have the steam holes... just use the B gasket and you will be fine..

by bettlesrI am looking for a drawing of the stud locations vs the center line of the cylinder bores. I have a Winfield 7:1 crow's foot head that I need to have flycut to clear the pistons that stick up .062" above the block. I have been using a standard gasket, a solid copper gasket and then another standard gasket. That is not really working well at this time. It left me with a crack between the water...

I have a new McCord 5737 steel head gasket I acquired in group of parts.
I think it’s for a Model B but wondering if it is usable on a Model A head and block.
If it is is it recommend for use?
Thanks...-

by PepeLocoI have these two gaskets and wonder which is the better. Also, prior to installation and after a thorough cleaning of the head and block, do I just put the gasket on, or coat the gasket with something? You do not have permission to view this gallery.

by dmaxwebI've got all the head bolts off except one of course. I'm in no hurry and sure as heck don't want to snap the stud so just soaking with Kroil for now.
I came across this video on cleaning the top of the block. It's a Ford block but not Model A. Any thoughts on the procedure?

by Fordfan29I have a Model B engine and am installing a Brumfield 5.9 head. The B block has the two steam holes between #2 & 3 plugged and sealed. I have read lots of information on the forums and from Larry Brumfield but am having a problem figuring what will fit. I had a new composite B gasket on the shelf for a B that actually overhung into the combustion chamber about 1/8th inch on the B-F head! I...
