Mechanical engineering 101: If you put an adjustment knob, screw, bolt, or tolerance specs on something, some people will immediately fiddle with it. If you mark it DO NOT TOUCH everyone will mess with it.

Laugh if you want, I've opened a lot of eyes with a pair of wire coat hangers. And the branch too.

Do they make new reproductions of these items or do I have to find them at swap meets and such ?
Model A's and of course the famous AA's

pAAt, forget the reproductions. Look around out in the pastures that way you know you are getting the real thing from the junk pile.

Yeah you can take the boy out of the country but you can't take the country out of the boy. Lot of times I wish I was there.

Carry along stuff reminded me of Pat & me, on our FIRST 85 MILE trip, out of town. When I took off or stopped FAST, heard a BIG HORRIBLE CLUNK!!!!---It wuz my BIG, 5 cell MAGLIGHT flashlight, rolling back & forth, in the SEAT RISER---(WHEW!)

        Marvel vs Ampco Intake Oilers
        by MikeK
There is a HUGE DIFFERENCE in operation between the Original patented Marvel INVERSE oilers and the Ampco and other simple knockoffs that feed oil DIRECTLY proportional to engine vacuum. People often confuse the two as similar in function.

An inverse oiler (Only Marvel oilers) feed less oil when the manifold vacuum is high (cruising, idling) and more when the vacuum is less (accelerating,

O.K. an empty paper bag for $10.00. P.T. Barnum was right - there's one born everyday! Says there going fast too, guess they'll have to make more.

        A different turn signal question
        by Denis4x4
I have a Signal-Stat 900 that works just fine. My problem is that there is a “buzzer” that you can barely hear even with engine off and the indicator light doesn’t grab my attention. In other words, I’m like the old lady in Florida that drives around with the blinkers on!

        ideas??

Need more amps out of my 31, 6 volt generator.
        by old31
What can I look for or do to get more amps out of my generator?

I have the 3rd arm adjusted all the way down, it can go no lower. I drive with my lights on, and with low beam I can get no more than half an amp. High beam it goes negative.

        MAFCAS' PICTURE OF THE WEEK
        by BILL WILLIAMSON
Be SURE to look at MAFCAS' "PICTURE OF THE WEEK" at the bottom of their HOME page. It's Detroits' parade of Roadster Police Cars, hundreds & hundreds of them!----I "guess" they must have called the BIG PADDYWAGONS, when they made arrests???? They all ran "POLICE" heads & had the most modern Radio Communications Systems. Can't even IMAGINE cruising in them, in...

Dakota Digital ECD-100; conversion of electrical speedometer to mechanical
        by Gary D
Hi, I have a 1930 Cabriolet with a Borg Warner T5 transmission. I want to use the original Stewart Warner speedometer and am considering buying a Dakota Digital ECD-100 to make the conversion. Any thoughts, experience with this unit ? Any input would be greatly appreciated ! Thank You ! Gary
