Favorite oil for hand held oil can?

What oil do you use for a hand held oil can to lube the various parts on the model A? Also do you use an antique oiler or a new one? The ladder is more curiosity than anything.

I use a new can with left over engine oil. Works for me.

I just use engine oil, 30 weight, 15-40, doesn't really matter. I also use 3 in 1 oil when a lighter oil is required.

Lathe way oil. Only because I still have a 1930's 5 gallon tin drum with about a gallon remaining.

I use what ever is left from a used up oil bottle, goes into my 1920's Texaco oil dispenser.

I use what ever oil is laying around.
I have two vintage trigger pull oil cans (one is a Craftsman)
I do have 3 vintage Ford script oilers in my stash of parts.

Speaking of, any use the homemade penetrating mixture of 50/50 acetone and ATF? Some say it works great.

I use old two cycle oil.Seems like every old car, truck, tractor,or backhoe I buy has a quart of it stashed away somewhere. The only place I use two cycle oil now is in my chainsaws, and I probably only go through 10 gallons of gas a year now. And,I went to synthetic for them years ago.I only use the old stuff for oilcans, keeping stuff from rusting, and if I have a lot it goes in the waste oil furnace.

Since I use an oil filter on my A, I use the used oil from an oil change. Just because it changed color doesn't make it useless, and I really hate someone making money off me twice for an oil change with all the recycling crap.

Whatever I have laying around. A squirter of oil and a squirter of ATF. I think my squirters are older than I am.

I have one of these, loaded up with whatever I have whenever it gets empty.

When I went to NAPA 10 years ago to buy this, I actually had to show a picture of what I wanted in order to get it. Even then, the "clerk" had to go find it in their warehouse. They had none on display.

I find it amazing that people don't know what an oil can or a grease gun is, or how to use one.

I am a purist, the can must say FORD. The oil in it, is motor oil, type and weight who remembers.

3 squirt pump cans, one with ATF, one with gear oil, and one with motor oil.
I lubricate all my sewing machines with ATF, and it works great.
