  • Subframe question.

I have just received a new, complete, subframe for the 1928 roadster pickup that I am rebuilding. It would seem to me that the original subframe will have to be removed and the body reattached to the new subframe. Am I correct or way off the mark? If I am correct, how is the body attached to the subframe, tiveted or welded?
Any advise or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Chris

    Hauling Bodies in a Pickup
    by dmdeaton
I know a tudor wont fit between wheel wells in a pickup bed. Just wondering if anyone has tried rigging one down in the back of a modern pickup truck? I am just thinking out loud since I am in the market for a body. I am trying to find on in my area, but keep running across deals across the states. I am trying to hold off till next Hershey.

    Roadster Body Socket Placement
    by Snagglewhen
In the next couple of weeks I plan on tackling the side curtain body sockets on my '31 Deluxe Roadster. At some point in the life of the car, somebody filled in the holes in the doors where that the sockets set into. These are the six body sockets (three to a side).

I am looking for details on the placement and measurements of the sockets. Details such as the distance inward from the...

    Paint break question
    by Art Ebeling
What is the correct way to apply the secondary color on a Victoria? Do you wrap the upper color around the back of the doors and the upper part of the door jamb or do you just spray the outside of the doors allowing a drift of secondary color into the jamb as in the paint and refinish guide? can somebody post some pictures of theirs?...

    Unsure of original body type
    by ryguywright
I am a new owner of a 1929 Model A, but the body was chopped from the doors back. (See pictures).

What I was wondering is what the original body was. Whether it be a Coupe, or a Tudor. I tried to run the vin online but of course it’s too short.
    Vin starts with: A202

Is there any way I can find out the original body type? Any help is appreciated!...

    Body/Bed Mounting
    by Beauford
Any drawings out there on how to mount '29 Roadster P/U? I have some sort of splash guard as well that goes between cab and bed that I don't see the purpose.

Can You Identify The Cargo Brackets on this 1930-1931 Roadster Pickup?
    by Ayyy
This photo of a 30-31 Roadster PU shows three steel brackets used to hold long items such as pipe, lumber, and maybe ladders. This looks like a factory photo, but I've never seen a utility body like this before.

Does someone know anything about these (or similar) brackets?
    Are they actually Ford parts?
Would a version of these brackets have been made for the standard pickup...

Correct color for pickup bed wooden floor and metal stripes?
    by 29er
I'm studying up for MAFCA's Restorer Class and can't find this info in the Judging Standards. What's the correct color for the pickup bed wood and metal stripes? I'm guessing black (???). Many thanks!

Body to frame webbing and rubber pads
    by Dennis
What's the consensus here on body to frame webbing? I picked up a package today from a local vendor that was in a Vintiques bag, does not have the asphalt coating. I can coat them, that's not a problem. Henry's makes a spray on primer that looks like it might work. Here's another doubt I have with it and it is narrow compared to the original webbing I took off. My webbing measures 1-3/4"...

    Briggs Body Tag
    by dmdeaton
My 30 Briggs blindback is missing the patent tag and the body tag on the firewall. I have purchased both new and already installed the patent plate. Original rivet holes line up perfect. I first thought the body tag would have the frame serial number stamped on it, and I was close to stamping it. After doing some more reading the Briggs body number is only the body number, separate from the VIN. So...
