  • Need 60-A and 60-B Windshield Frame Measurements

A friend traded a Model T windshield frame for a Model A windshield frame. When he got it home it is definately not a standard Model A windshield frame size and the hinge bracket at the top appears to bolt to wood at the ends, not just scrwe to the header . I am thinking it is likely a 28 Briggs windshield or other fordor frame as it only has a single hole for a hand wiper. Could use a width and height measurement from a 60-A to try to confirm. He is willing to trade it for a regular 28-29 windshield frame. Thanks Rod

Rod, I've got one I can dig out and measure, but I'm sure it's got more than one wiper hole - guessing it has about 5 holes and wasn't aware that the 60-A,B,C ever came with a hand wiper (?). Can you post some pictures?

Will work on pictures Tuesday. Have had no luck posting pic's from my cell phone so far. Can not figure out how to resize them on the phone. Have to forward them to my email on the regular computer to resize. Did not take any with my regular digital camera as I did not have it with me. I rarely take it with me. Rod

If your using IOS get the app called CropSize costs 4.99 but its excellent and does up to 50 pics at once. This is what i use on my ipad
I manually size it to 2050 then save it to the camera roll...

Rod, here's measurements off 60-A/B windshield frame. Definitely not what you've got.

        Width (top) 44-1/8"
        Width (bottom) 42-3/4"
        Height (ends) 14-1/2"
        Height (middle) 12-3/4"

Thanks Randy. I did not think it looked quite right for a Briggs, but has been about 10 years since I have had one. Did some searching on the web earlier this am and may have it figured out. Just need to reread the thread to make sure I am reading it correctly. Will post what I find out. Rod

What kind of windshield frame is this?
            by Soapy
I was thinking it was for a Model A, but it's obviously something else. Model T?

            Windshield frame question
            by Bill G
I have a question about my windshield frame. I have a February 29 Tudor that was originally wired for an electric wiper, which would be proper. I bought the car missing the wiper motor. I have been studying the mounting for wipers and I have run across something that confuses me. The first attachment is a diagram that shows up in frequent posts about windshield frames and wiper mounts. It comes...

            Model A Windshield
            by JohnB15632
Successes are coming few and far between. But, today, I was able to put together my original windshield and windshield frame.
As I will show you in the pictures attached, it was in pretty sorry condition when I started.
I was most interested in saving the windshield glass, as it has an original 1960/1961 PA inspection sticker still on it!

            Thanks,

            Windshield color
            by Dennis
Reading the Paint and Finish Guide, for a 55-A, (Tudor), from 1928 thru April 1929 the windshield frame color would have been, or could have been the same as the belt & molding color. Or for the entire year it could have been just the lower body color. So can we say the windshield could be either the same as belt or could be same as lower body? My car is stamped 2/29 on the subframe. Now if...

            T and A windshield
            by Sunnybrook Farm
I have been working on the cowl area while it is on the engine test frame. A guy gave me some kind of early 20s windshield frame, I don't think it is a model T, maybe a Chevrolet 490 from the late teen/early 20s. Anyway I am making brackets and trying to figure out if it will work. I won't be going down the road just mainly looking for something to keep brush from hitting me while out getting wood....

            Installing windshield
            by JohnB15632
Try as I might, I can not get the Windshield to close. It hits against the filler strip.
I am beginning to think that I have the wrong windshield for my 31 SW 4D TS.

I have a windshield which is original. I measured the heights in the center of the window and the one installed is almost 1/4" bigger. This different in heights is what is leading me to think that this windshield...

1930 Ford Model A Windshield Frame
            by lilorbie
I have a 1930 Ford Model A with a Murray Body. The windshield frame is missing. What I would like to know are the closed cars windshields all the same. I am guessing that they maybe. But I don't know for sure. I would think that the Brigg's would be different.? Any help on this would be great . Also what would a good price for a decent used one.? I can have the glass made local.Thanks.

I have a 30 coupe with a chrome windshield frame, glass and weatherstripping installed and so forth. Do any of you have any experience swedging in a windshield frame nut? Snyder part number A-45475. Thanks for the responses. I'm enjoying the forum and all your help....

Advantages of hand operated windshield wiper...
            by Curly
Is there any reason I can’t, or shouldn’t, change my 1931 closed cab pick-up from the original vacuum style windshield wiper motor to a hand crank set up?
The reason I’m considering this is my hight. I look out the top of the windshield and that little vacuum motor is right on my eyes. I rarely use the wipers so I’d like to make better use of that windshield real estate.
