I think my rumble seat cushions are pretty good originals not a reproduction but the rumble seat floor is a fabrication. The car was restored in the fifties and sixties probably before reroductions were made for seat springs and floor. My question is this how does the rumble seat cushion on a '31 roadster fasten to the floor.I think I see holes in the repro floor platform and my seat spring has two wires or metal about 1/8" diameter come out of the bottom of the spring. Do these ends fit in the holes or are there supposed to be pegs like on later model Ford rumble seat cushions.Thank You. Mayby I can take a picture tomorrow.

Okay,Thank You Mitch, cleared that up.Picture is of my original rumble seat cushion and it shows I hope the "hairpins" that fit into the rumble seat floor. I think I will plan on changing out the galvanized floor platform that someone fabricated almost 60 years ago and buy the reproduction. This is very well made but not strengthening beads and when weight is put on seats floor sinks in enough to make a bang sound everytime. Now to try to figure out which of the two Bratton's sells is better. Thanks again. You do not have permission to view this gallery.

Those embossed channels in the repro metal aren't going to add much support for the seat cushion. You might be better served by going underneath and adding some support to the metal you already have in place. It also sounds like your cushion springs are worn out. Mine were shot as well and the money spent for a new spring was well worth it.
