  • Wheel Identification

A friend of mine gave me a set of rims. I do not know what they go to, can someone please tell me so I will know. Thanks Hugh

Hugh, first more information is needed. Like, what is the bolt pattern, what is the wheel width and diameter. Also, some closer better pictures of the back side of the hubs will help too.
You wana look waaay far up da road and plan yer route because the brakes are far more of a suggestion than a command!

And also what is the diameter of the rear of the hub.

        Look like 17” Ford.
Try one on your Model A. . Jeff

Ok this might not make sense but the measurements will be close. Outside diameter was about 19 1/2". Front hole size was about 6". 5-lug nut holes. Tire rim size: Outside rim to rim 4 1/2 inches. Inside rim where tire sits was 3 to 3 1/4". Back of rim hole was 10 to 10 1/2" wide. I added a few more pictures for you. Hugh

If they are 17" then that is the measurement where the rubber tire bead touches, and not the very outside dimension of the wheel lip.

Tom's right but if they are 18", then 19 1/2" outside diameter sounds about right.

So any idea what type vehicle these rims go too? Hugh

Yep, sounds like 32 ford 18 inch .

Reason I asked for hub diameter at back, is I bought 2 33/34 17 inch USA ford wheels at the last swap meet, and the guy had another 2 wheels which were 17 inch too,

5 X 5 1/2 and 5 3/4 hubcap hole but it was a bit narrower and the hub was smaller.

Turned out to be english Ford 17 inch wheels.

Ford wheel sizes.jpg These are measurements I have taken off Ford wheels. Maybe this will help determine your year!
