    The engine number was also the serial number of the car. Engines were numbered when they were completed, and for the most part went into a chassis within a day or so. However, some engines were assembled and numbered at branch assembly plants. Highland Park would ship a block of engine-number records to an assembly plant and these engines might be made weeks or months...

    This is my first post. My wife and I are the proud owners of a beautiful '31 A Deluxe. We have named her Sarah - an acronym for the women in my life: Susan (wife), April and Robin (our daughters) and Ainsley and Hannah (our two granddaughters.)     Which RPM reading do you think is the closest to the truth?

    My roadster has a 3.78 rear end, 6.0 head and a F150 4 speed trans.

    I have taken the RPMS with my Westech tach, a dwell meter and a digital timing light, and i am not sure about accuracy.
