  • Info on 39 Panel Delivery wooden frame rails

I am in the process of restoring a 39 Panel Delivery and am having trouble sourcing the wooden rails that go on between the frame rails an the body. Anyone have any suggestions.

    Body reconstruction question.
    by Licensed to kill
My '31 deluxe delivery was in pretty good shape other than the top where the roof was where it rusted bad under the fabric and everything above the drip rail had to be replaced. Due to the poor condition, I was not able to observe how some of this went together, notably where the roof panel above the door meets the quarter panel above the drip rail. Were these spot welded together perhaps??. I bought...

    Help me understand.
    by Licensed to kill
So, I'm pretty much done with the chassis for my '31 Deluxe Delivery and am back on body panels that I started 2 years ago. The entire top of the 1/4 panels, from the drip rails up, had to be replaced as it was rotted right out from water getting under the roof. A friend and i made new top panels as well as the rear corners but did not finish the ends as i was down g it at he]is place and didn't have...

    Coupe rear outer panel?
    by Mickey
Can anyone tell me what kind/size screw is used to attach the TOP of the curved inner panel to the inside TOP of the outer panel? As you can see in the picture there are 6 very small holes maybe 1/16 in size to mark the location. I assume a sheet metal screw?

    Body to sub rail connection
    by Hank B
During my rebuild, I had to remove sections of rusted sub rails, both wheel wells and one rear quarter panel.
I have completed the rebuilding of each section.
I also fitted the body panels to the sub rails in temporary fashion to make certain that everything mated correctly.
I was concerned about things like the belt rail matching when I rehung the doors and the trunk lid fitting...

Instrument panel lamp -characteristics of authenticity
    by Rumbler
What are the characteristics that help identify an original lamp for the oval speedometer instrument panel? There's very little information in the RG&JS that I can find, other than being bright nickel.

    Instrument panel lighting issue
    by Oldtruckguy
Re: 1950 Ford Custom instrument panel lighting. Wondering if anyone else had issues with the instrument panel lighting being very dim and what they did to improve it. I bought led bulbs and the clock is real bright now but the panel is still very dim even though the bulbs put out a good bright light....

    Frame Sag
    by davew
I checked the chassis section and could not find any information on this. If you have determined that your frame has suffered this fate how is it best fixed? Do you have to take the body off or can it be done with the body on? I have looked at the Les Andrews book. Just wondering what the thoughts were on this site. Thanks, David

    Sagging frame questions
    by Dan Kurth
I have two frames that need to be straightened, one is down about 3/16" and the other about 1/2". I took the front axle off the first one I'm going to try, and plan to leave the rear attached to hold the back down. I have a sawhorse under the frame under the engine mounts, and I'll hang some weights on the frame horns. So, in heating the frame, how hot should I get it and how big of an area...
