Mr Ford strived for vertical integration, the complete control of the manufacturing process, raw materials from his holdings were processed and manufactured in his industrial complex to be marketed in delearships controlled by him.
The drive toward this goal was embodied by the Rouge complex, an American Industrial achievement unparalleled..its first product in its entirety was the Model A,the basic design of which propelled Ford through 20 years of manufacturing progress, and during that time was unrivaled in its capability.Others may have outsold and out produced him by unit, but no manufacturer could match him in control of the process..

"I will build a motor car for the great multitude...constructed of the best materials, by the best men to be hired, after the simplest designs that modern engineering can devise...so low in price that no man making a good salary will be unable to own one-and enjoy with his family the blessing of hours of pleasure in God's great open spaces."

Once the lumber was gone, he took a job as an...

Henry Ford II was named executive vice president of the Ford Motor Company. His promotion confirmed his bid to become the heir to his grandfather's throne at Ford. Henry II despised his grandfather for tormenting his father, Edsel Ford. Nevertheless Henry II went on to display many of the leadership skills of his grandfather en route to becoming the head of the Ford Empire. After an unsatisfactory academic career...

Henry Ford (83), the man who revolutionised modern transport with his mass produced Model T- died by candlelight during a power-cut caused by floods in Detroit, US. Most of his personal estate, valued at $205 million, was left to the Ford Foundation. While working as an engineer for the Edison Illuminating Company in Detroit, Henry Ford (1863-1947) built his first gasoline-powered horseless carriage, the Quadricycle,...
