Ugh! Probably got to do a head gasket soon.
    by Jedmundcars
I'm keeping Clarabelle more and more in the garage at home now. Got bored today and went out and propped the hood up and started looking around. Saw a little moisture around the head. Guess I'll retorque the head tomorrow but it most likely will not stop it. I've noticed on some of the tech threads where some say loosen the head nuts a bit before going into the torqueing sequence . She hasn't...

    Camber
    by dmaxweb
I just replaced the right spindle because of stripped threads. Everything is now back together. In the light of day, I can see the camber on the right side is noticebly more than the left side. I did not notice this before I replaced the spindle but it could have been there. Is it possible to have a bent spindle and if so, how do I check for that? I want to isolate the problem before removing...

I have two A-3131-B Spindle Arms, Left (the two-ball type), that when assembled to the left side of the front axle, and after attachment of the Tie Rod, measures 1-1/16" from the end of the tie-rod to the backing plate.

The right side measures 9/16" from the tie-rod end to the backing plate after assembly.

The right side is well within the limits for distance (Standards...

Brake scare!

Yesterday I took my Tudor for a spin around the nieghborhood and as I was slowing down to pull up the driveway I lost all brakes as the pedal fell to the floor! I killed the ignition, pulled the e brake, double clutched and pulled it into first gear. Fortunately it came to a stop a couple of car lengths past my drive but just before I went down a 200’ drop in elevation to a dead end! First thing...
