by Afordman31I have a early 30 steering gearbox that has brass worm cone bearings. The venders don't sell these from what I have read in the past. Will the later bearings that venders sell work in the housing? Thanks

by ModelAArmyI just got my car off an 8 month jack stand repair and took it for my first drive. It was wonderful for a new owner and first time model A person. However the car has a lean to the driver side in the rear but not in the front. I understand this is common and I found on line one way to correct it. It said to loosen the four bolts on the rear springs and then have someone stand on the passenger side...

by KevDeeI have been searching through VFF for info on the use of 600W oil in trans/diff/steering box and there is so much that i'm pulling my hair out haha... Up in Canada where I am located the weather can be from 95F in the summer to as low as -22F in the winters. Now dont get me wrong, I know Im not driving the A in the severe cold but i do like to start them up every other day. Is 600W the way to go...

by Kevin in NJI ended up with 2 South Bend 10K lathes recently. I already have one, but these are longer and newer.. Well you know how that goes...
These were fairly grimey with a layer of hard dry oil. I mostly used some old safety clean to get the basic layer of junk off. No I am taking each section down for proper cleaning, paint and reassembly.

What do all of you think of drilling, taping and threading in grease fittings in the bell housing for both sides of the clutch release shaft.
One for the gurus.
OK, this is my repowered Austin 1800 with a 99 ford laser engine.
Pinpointed the problem, but it is strange.
Idle is hunting up and down at about 2 second intervals.
Been chasing it for weeks, doing the usual stuff, cleaning throttle body/ MAF/ vacuum leaks / PCV valve /unplugging sensors etc.
Finally yesterday , I found it is hunting ONLY when in...
