    Which Diode Cutout is Best?
    by Tom Wesenberg
I can't answer that, but if I was to buy a diode cutout, I like the one made by A&L because of the heavy heat sink they use. It's the one on the right in this picture, and it appears to be made from solid aluminum bar stock with a center hole milled for mounting the diode. This leaves about a 1/2" wall, as well as a thick end plate that the diode is mounted in. Just by the weight, you'll...

    Upper Column Bushing Webbing
    by Bill CNC
    Hey All,

I've been doing a window tuneup, and I just turned the car around in the driveway. When I went to get in, the steering wheel moves towards me. WTH?

Ok, so now I'm sitting in the driver's seat, and I have all kinds of play in the column bushing. The only thing it could be (light bulb moment) is the webbing dropped down the column. So, outcomes the column for the SIXTH...

    Block ID Preservation
    by pjdeb3082B
After a few hours of rust remover and careful emery cloth, my block ID is clear as a bell. Down to the original metal. Anyone know:
    1. Is there any significance to the stars which are stamped to the right and to the left of the number?
    2. Any suggestion on a high temp coating that will stop it from rusting over again?

    Thanks

Cooling System Flush

Certainly not a new topic, but many of the old posts don't answer the first timer's questions on flush/backflush:
1. Do you run straight white vinegar....all three gallons?
2. How long do you run it for? I have heard hours, days, weeks....
Flush/backflush
3. When you neutralize, how much baking soda do you use for the three gallons of water?
4. How long do you run that...

help on 12 v horn winding

Need input from electrical gurus.
I have everything ready to rewind a horn motor field coils to make it a 12 volt horn . Horn frame is stripped of old 20 ga. wire and frame cleaned. Have about 1000 ft of 24 ga coated wire. The 20 ga wire that came off the coils were 20.5 ft long and had 23 or 25 coils. Reading info the new 24 ga wire should be twice that long and have about twice the number...

Tudor rear quarter window trim

Hey All,

It's window time. Backs and the front passenger side are getting a little fussy. I pulled all the regulators and gave them a good cleaning and greasing and they all work great. However, I'd like to shim the channels a little on the upper door pillar side but cannot get the window trim off. Well, it's almost off, but I cannot get the vertical side off of the door pillar.

Antique Automobile Magazine

Antique Automobile Magazine is the official publication of the Antique Automobile Club of America. One of my kids was at an estate sale in Traverse City, and picked up two boxes of the magazine for me, like new, in the mailing envelopes. All together, about 150-200 copies, and looks complete for the 1970's through the mid 1990's. First one I picked up had a feature story about Henry Ford and some...
