by DaWizardI am about too adapt another Jeep 4cyl distributor to work on an A/B engine. How many of you out there care to see what it takes to get an auto advance distributor to work? I am thinking it would be pictures and explanations only as it would take days to do it and I don't have a video editor and don't plan to get one.Yes66.67%6No, don't care.11.11%1Yes, but I don't plan to do it.22.22%2

by jwoodwardI'm an Auto Tech Instructor, and we have a 1929 Model A tudor that my students are restoring. Might need new rod bearings for the engine, was wondering where I could get them.

by rheacoxGot the Falcon in the garage for the first time yesterday to do some exploratory work and just generally see what I'm dealing with. All in all, it is very solid. The cross member that goes over the transmission tail housing is rotted on one side, I have sourced a replacement. The floor in that immediate area also seems to be starting to go but it's not horrible. That also turned out to be the cause...You do not have permission to view this gallery.

My daughter
The Model A of the Day photos of my daughter produced some replies, so I though I would show this photo of her helping me rebuild the front end of my tudor in 1975.

Tie rod clashing with front cross member
Our speedster has a '33-'34 front axle giving a 1.5" drop. Everything else is standard. When on full lock or close to full lock, the tie rod rubs on the front cross member and at times feels as though its sticking or dragging there.
Also when we hit an abrupt bump, the tie rod taps the underside of the chassis.
If I bend the steering arms down to stop it tapping the chassis, it will...

Steering wheel
1931 Model A ford Tudor steering wheel. I need a good place to go to get the steering wheel redone to good standards, don't want to do it myself. To time consuming to charge the customer for. Thanks
Potter Manufacturing Trunk
Hello, I am in possession of my grandfather's Potter Manufacturing trunk for 1933/1934 Ford. I believe it could also be for GM. But my family's always been Ford. Is black, but most of the paint is worn off. Reach out if anyone has any interest. One leather handle broke but is all there. Other is fine. No real dents. Live in Nj.

Engine Rebuild
I plan to rebuild the engine for the fordor before the body, so everything mechanical is functional. Can someone list the steps (in order) for doing a complete engine rebuild so it will be in running condition? Website links are also fine. I have all of the parts needed.
Extra power from a B carburettor?
I am told installing a weber carburettor on an otherwise standard Model A engine will give about 8 more HP. As part of his upgrade to the A engine when he brought out the B engine, Henry fitted a larger carburettor. Does anybody have any knowledge on how much extra power fitting a B carb to an A engine would give? Assume the inlet has been enlarged.
