    A wiring mystery
    by Ray Horton
I got my RH tail light installed today. But in the process of installing the crossover wires I lost my original LH stop light. The tail light works fine, but no stop light. I removed the stop light crossover wire and still no light. I have checked the continuity from the wire to the bulb socket, and it is not broken. I also checked the bulb, and it is good. It’s easy enough to run a new wire from...

    Spindle Question
    by Cape Codder
I have written about this problem on this site before, concerning the fit of the inner bearing on the front spindle.
After some measuring as had been suggested, I came up with an idea. My thoughts are that the INNER part of the bearing is spinning on the axle shaft. I have checked 6 spindles that I have with a micrometer but have thought if I install the bearing and then turn the threaded...

The early forged front fender bracket
    by Steve Plucker
    OK Guys…One last time here.

This concerns the early forged front fender bracket at it’s mounting end to the front fender.

The MARC/MAFCA RG & JS’s tell us on page 4-14 Revised 2011, the following about the FRONT FENDER BRACKETS:

“Initially, (front) fender brackets were forged with squared outer ends and ¼” RAISED “ROUND” BOSSES at the fender edge”.

Question about body panel below deck lid on my 28 Coupe.
    by rusty
How much of a bow should this panel have where it meets the bottom edge of the deck lid? I have a 5/8" gap at each end of the straight edge. I'm thinking this panel is bowed from the weight of the spare tire bouncing on it. I doubt any of the roads this car would have traveled on in the 30's here in Montana were paved.

Frame Numbers

I am brand new to the forums. I have acquired a beater 35 Tudor sedan (flatback) without fenders but does include the necessary bullet hole or two! The body is definitely a 35, but the frame numbers fall within the 4,186,477 - 4,661,000 range which I believe would designate 1938. Well, who knows what has happened to this vehicle over the years. I am wondering if there are major differences between...

Brake pin wear

Just finishing up some brake work on my ‘30 Tudor. I used new brake pins which measured out at 7.25 inches on both sides. On the driver’s side the new pin with no pill shims lined the lever up at 15 degrees forward. The passenger side lever was basically straight up or 0 degrees. One pill brought it to 10 degrees forward.
So besides the pin itself, what else is a wear point? I am wondering...

Reinstalling old leatherback top after replacing the header

Hi Folks,
Looking for some tricks to reinstalling the old leatherback top after replacing the header and door post. After a winter of heavy woodwork I had to hit the pause button and put the car back together for the season. I will replace the entire top down the road one winter.
The issue is I'm not sure how to stretch the old one back into place as it was installed and cut to size many...
